Robben was said to be unhappy with his lack of first team games and Shaun Wright-Phillips is almost a permanent bench fixture. Both players are obviously unhappy with Chelsea. My best friend is a Chelsea supporter and I, Manchester United. He made a preposterous proposal that had me laughing, but strangely, the more he talked about it the more it made sense. Manchester United's problem is the lack of squad depth and the need to replace 33 year old Giggs for the near future. Chelsea has 2 unhappy players and their games are usually boring to watch (with few exceptions). His solution: Chelsea trades Shaun Wright-Phillips and Robben for Cristiano Ronaldo. Crazy because Fergie would never let Ronaldo go; and Mourinho would never give good players like Robben and Shaun Wright-Phillips to a rival like United. Advantage to Manchester United: 1. Get two great wingers in exchange of one outstanding one; therefore added depth to the squad. 2. Both Robben and Shaun Wright-Phillips are young so Fergie will get plenty of mileage for both. 3. They'd fit well in United's style of play. 4. Fergie will no longer have to deal with Scolari. Advantage to Chelsea: 1. Ronaldo is Portugal's best young player, so Mourinho would love him and give him games (and it might prompt Mourinho to go back to wingers and use Joe Cole more often). 2. People complain that Chelsea plays in a boring manner; Ronaldo's a natural entertainer. A swap like this one would to benefit both squads... Why it won't happen: 1. Robben had his chance to go to United and chose Chelsea. United fans and Fergie would very well remember that. 2. Wright-Phillips used to play for Manchester City, a club which is a major rival of Manchester United. 3. After all the trouble he went through to keep Ronaldo from straying off to Real Madrid, and patiently working on the boy; Fergie wouldn't let Ronaldo slip towards a rival like Chelsea. 4. The Glazers would prefer Ronaldo for his greater commercial value.
Robben is a much better dribbler and faster then Ronaldo so why the fuck would Chelase even consider this? let alone add SWP to the trade. Ronaldo belongs in a circus with his step overs, they fool nobody and its surprising the manager hasn't told him to stop the flip-flop routine yet - Nobody is impressed with it, perhaps take some lessons from Ronaldinho and start again.
Ronaldo has scored and created more goals than Robben. This is why I would never trade SWP and Robben for Ronaldo. Plus Robben has the worst attitude this side of Anelka.
That's a pretty shit argument right there, scored more goals? lol... well atleast we agree on it would never happen. Ronaldo blows hot and cold. The same ManYoo fans who are singing his praises now, were the same ones who wanted him out of the club after we beat them 3-0 last season, saying he was a waste-of-space and a one-trick-pony. And after the World Cup, there wasn't a single ManYoo fan who stuck up for him, all of them wanted him to go, preferably in a hearse. Funny how they've ALL changed their attitude now; and how he's gone from being a drain on the team to being the best player ever, ever, ever. Crawling out of the woodwork must have damaged their brains!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not an attacker like Robben or Ronaldo's job to score and create goals? In all competitions in his United career, Ronaldo has scored 31 goals to Robben's 16. Surely the fact that one player does his job better than another is the best reason for not trading a player? If not, I propose trading John Terry for Mikael Silvestre.
Thats like comparing Ronaldo (Madrid) goals during worldcups to Shevchenko. *sigh* It's pretty crap logic really.
Obviously? give it a break dude your utter biased. Robben isn't a regular starter for Chelsea unlike Ronaldo to United - so lets use some simple logic shall we? okay here... whats the probability of someone scoring in 5 games compared to the other player in scoring in 1? - see wasn't hard to understand was it? Ah fuck it, here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/shared/bsp/hi...aldo_249143.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/shared/bsp/hi...bben_214539.stm I've just used your same logic to prove Robben is a better player. Game, set and match.
