Parcells answered a question today by cutting Troy Hambrick. Jones knows he will be the starting RB now and Hambrick wont be a distraction to that process. Way to go Bill! Later

This is not that much of a surprise. Hambrick was not going to be the starter this year anyway. Whether Jones is the starter or a vet free agent still gets brought in may still be a question, but the fact that Hambrick will not start for the Cowboys is not a stunner.

Why is having a non-first-round rookie starting crazy? I think it worked out decent for several backs in the last five years.

It has, but usually those players are not expected to be starters. Clinton Portis was not drafted to start right away. Denever still had Michael Anderson and Olandis Gary (2 1000 yard rushers) on the roster when they drafted Portis. In other situations players get to play because of injuries or something similar. It's rare that a 2nd round pick is counted on to be a starter right away. Especially for a team that went to the playoffs last year. I think they are making a big mistake with this whole RB thing. I know Parcells is a genious, but their whole offseason has not made much sense to me. It's almost like they are admitting that they will not win this year, and playing for the next year. Thats a very bad attitude, and will hurt the team in the long run.

Maybe Bill thinks his team is in better shape than we do. He would be in a position to know and I dont think anyone would disagree that he has the knowlege and experience to determine the talent level of his team. I know this, if the O line is improved this year, regardless of the RB or Qb situation, there will be marked improvement over last year. Heck, we have a MUCH easier schedule and Bill has instilled discipline and has these guys believing in HIS system already. Now he is stocking up on talent, not JUST first round talent, and he will add a veteran or two after June 1st (Vinny for sure). The #1 defense from last year returns intact and is a year smarter with some new blood to help keep the opposing QB running for his life and WRs looking around for Roy Williams. I dont know that we win the division but the playoffs are a posssibility with the skins rebuilding, the giants in turmoil and the eagles, now with TO, trying to make it 4 (chokes) in a row.8o) Just kidding! The Eagles are still the team to beat if we want to go any further. Just my 2 cents worth. Later
