<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">He wants to leave a legacy. "I don't want to go somewhere else where they've won championships, a place like San Antonio, where they've already won a title," McGrady said. "I want to do it in Orlando. "Man, this is home. I want to be the first guy to bring one here. That's what I want to do." And that would also shoot down theories of T-Mac fleeing to Los Angeles, where he might be able to join his buddy, Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal, and replace Kobe Bryant. If anything, McGrady is sensitive to how Shaq jilted Orlando and bolted after the 1996 season. He doesn't want to be remembered as a defector, and he could do something Shaq couldn't do by delivering a title here. At least that's how McGrady feels now. </div> http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic As a Magic fan thats great to hear. If we get a real center who actually has talent and develop the younger players, its not completely impossible. Cross out the trading Tmac for Kobe theory as well. He doesnt want to go to LA.
Sounds good. The key is max out a good young center when Hill's opts out of his contract, while convincing Tmac to stay for at least a couple more years.(which should'nt be too hard according to this article) I would love to see Tmac finish his career in Orlando, but I don't know how likely it is at the rate we are moving now.
