I just read this on USATODAY.com: Detroit, MI: In a column in today's Detroit Free Press columnist Drew Sharp believes that in order for the Pistons to be able to win a championship they will need Tracy McGrady and seems to indicate that Dumars could pull this off. It seems for me to believe though. How could this deal get done? Who would Detroit have to give up in a trade with Orlando?? David DuPree: Probably Richard Hamilton and Okur and a first round pick, something of that nature. It can happen, but Dumars will have to be creative. I'm sure the Magic will try to wrangle Ben Wallace in the deal somehow. That would be a good move for both teams Ithink. RIP has shown how clutch he is in the play-offs. What do you think?
Rip is not a franchise player. Orlando can see that. This rumor goes against the major concepts that both teams are about: Detriot sends out two effective players within thier team concept for franchise player that needs to ball. Orlando gets rid of thier ticket sales for 2 guys who aren't really all that measurably better than what they have in the rest of their roster already. Orlando needs a new arena. There's no way they can ship out thier ticket seller for no ticket draw in return, especially while they're fighting for a new arena. If that were to happen, it'd all but guarantee that the team is somewhere else soon, like Tampa.
Hagrid-No,no,no,no,no,no,no 1) T-Mac is going FULL STOP! 2) Rip is an excellent player, have you ever seen him play? He has the best mid-range game in the league!!!!!!!!!
No, a terrible trade for Orlando, they can get much better players in return from T-Mac, like Franchise, Shareef, AI, Kobe, Paul Piece, etc. Those players are all better than Rip, a one dimension player.
Dachen33-let's have a sit down and look at this. Franchise-Streetballer who is trash Shareef- more of a softie then T AI and KOBE not moving in trades Paul pierce- no T won't go to a loser! Cause he'll leave, so they won't make the trade
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">2) Rip is an excellent player, have you ever seen him play?</div> <u>OK, Pay attention:</u> I didn't say he wasn't a good player. I said he's not a franchise player. If you're going to argue that point, then there really isn't much more to discuss.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Paul pierce- no T won't go to a loser! Remind us all again where "T's" team finished in relation to the "loser Celtics"?
Rip? Why? He's a fan favorite, he even gets it done, not only is he an excellent player pretty much in a lot of aspects. For a guy who has the ball a lot and is an excellent mid-range shooter, he's a good passer and decent rebounder. TMac would ruin the whole team aspect, in the Pistons they're all good if you ask me and work together, no real definite superstar, they all need one another and work well, if TMac was to come into play, that'd all be ruined. He'd probably please Brown being such an offensive threat though. However Dumars usually prefers the nice guy, Duncan type players, not skill wise but emotionally, with the will to win and some good abilities. Meaning Ben Wallace, he's sort of one-dimensional but he's a great guy, good player, fan favorite and not exactly the ultimate superstar. That's the only type of player that should be on the current Detroit, 'Sheed, etc. No Thomas, Dumars, Johnson, Rodman or Laimbeer's here. Edit: Meaning no franchise players, there are and some can be, you know the two Wallace's, Billups, etc. But they're not exactly the best of the best and mesh together simply because of a combination of above average goodness.
Hagrid............oh dear. The Celtics would never win a championship, with T instead of pierce, would they, therefore they are a loser! No credibility lost Hey grid check it b4 u reck it! U said " Orlando gets rid of thier ticket sales for 2 guys who aren't really all that measurably better than what they have in the rest of their roster already" RIP is much better then the other Magic players!!!!! Get out of the fryin pan shameless
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Celtics would never win a championship, with T instead of pierce, would they, therefore they are a loser!</div> Nice cover, but few, if anyone, (but you, that is) would have come to that interpretation, based on what you originally said. So you're now either saying that either: - TMac can't lead as well as Pierce can? or that Boston will never win a Championship again, regardless of who's playing there? Exactly which one are you implying this time? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You said" Orlando gets rid of thier ticket sales for 2 guys who aren't really all that measurably better than what they have in the rest of their roster already"</div> <font color="DarkRed">RIP is much better then the other Magic players!!!!!</font> </div> I'll let someone else tell you how guys like Drew Gooden aren't measureably less commodities than Rip Hamilton. I'm bored now. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Get out of the fryin pan shameless</div> Keep dreaming skippy. You'll have to do a hell of alot better than that to bring any heat to me.

I don't think the Pistons will trade Ben Wallace because he's the core of the defense in Detroit. The trade wouldn't probably happen because they need a franchise player or a few role players for T-Mac. I would likely be going to Houston or something for like Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and maybe a first round. How bout that for an offer?
