It's way too early guys, and it's a long season with plenty of time to evaluate this team. This Forum is for guys and gals that really know the game. Let's analyse this and act like were KP, and not that idiot from ESPN....U know who I'm talking about.

But it's more fun to react hysterically and demand the trade of the entire team, firing the whole coaching staff, and forcing Paul Allen to sell the team! I mean, this is a Blazer internet forum, right? This is where things happen! The Blazer front office said they read the message boards, they really do!

Is there one post on this board lately where people are calling for wholesale trades? I think defenders of the status quo are trying to characterize folks that want to see a trade for some scoring or defense as hysterical.

I think everyone here knows we have a solid core of Roy, LMA, Oden and Rudy. I think you do have to take a sober look at the supporting cast if you expect to make the playoffs in the West.

The Suns have a better roster right now and they still went out and made a very smart move to improve some holes in their game. That's what smart GMs do.

So after 1 game the Suns have proven that the Richardson trade was a good one?

How's that Shaq trade working out for them? They finished last season winning at a lower rate than before the trade (34-15 pre trade, 21-12 post trade). And so far this year? 14-10 (on pace for 47 wins) including 7-5 at home. And here we are bitching about 7-2 at home.

Or how about that Jason Kidd trade for Dallas?

You must have missed the trade LMA and Oden is bust threads over the last couple of weeks...

If "everyone" knew that, things wouldn't be so hysterical around here all the time. The fact that almost anytime we lose (or even winning but not playing "well") pretty much everyone is trade bait is pretty retarded. Roy may not get offered in trades but he gets criticized for hogging the ball too much at the end of games . . . ummm, hello, he's the ONLY reason we win tight games and has to have the ball in crunch time. So he can't make them all and makes a mistake here or there - the guy's only human . . . actually he's almost super-human but is still pissed on in losses.

KP is an extremely smart GM that knows what is best for the team. If the right trade comes along, he will do it. You expect a trade to be done 25 games into the year because we are 15-10?

And last I checked, we are ahead of them in the standings, with a much harder schedule, and they have yet to come play us in portland.

I'm still very content with our team overall at this point, although these last three games have been tough. I'd almost rather have had them be blowouts rather than two games that we should have closed out and won.

I think the worst part from a fan standpoint is that I have to dwell on those losses for three days, but that's probably good from a team standpoint because they're desperately in need of the rest.

I would have taken a 15-10 start if you asked me in October - no question. But the way we lost those two games this week . . . just devestating.

I'm not content with the team. Why? Because we are close to being VERY GOOD. ESPN had us ranked 4th best in the entire league. We just have some glaring weaknesses (i.e., Point Guard) I don't want to make a trade for the sake of making a trade, but I sincerely hope something comes along that involves a quality starting PG. Not a Chris Paul, or a Deron Williams - that aint gonna happen and we all know that. You just can't win consistantly with Blake. He's a b/u who can't create a shot for anybody - including himself. And he can't stop anybody defensively either. It's very frustrating. I don't hate the guy - he'd be a solid b/u. Just not a starter - it kills us. We have to work so hard offensively some nights to get good shots. Can you imagine how our offense would look w/o B-Roy? We end up firing 25 treys/game because we don't have a PG that can get to the basket and finish. He dribbles into the key and HAS to pass it every time. He has no ability to get anything off in the lane. If I was guarding him, I'd let him beat me. What's he going to do? Get to the basket? Yeah, right. How many times have you seen him dribble into the lane . . . and then dribble right back OUT!! It's bizarre. Where ya going Steve?
