    We got:

    #1 QB
    #1 TE
#1 S (outside of Jenkins, he may play CB)

I really wanted Everette Brown but Delmas is a solid pick. Alexander has a broken neck and may not even be ready next year. Delmas and Bullocks will be interchangable at the safety position. They say Delmas compares to Brian Dawkins. The dude hits, tackles well, and can cover.

James Lauranitis is a chase and drag down LB. He was like Teddy Lehman 2.0. Sure he racked up a lot of tackles, but a lot of them are 4-5 yards downfield. He isn't aggressive enough to be a thumper and make plays at the line of scrimmage.

Rey Mauluga is a brainless beast that lacks proper instincts for a middle linebacker. Your MLB should be the smartest guy on the field for your defense. Rey played very undisciplined at USC, and we already have one of those guys in Ernie Sims. Plus Rey is only a 2 down linebacker. A runstuffing LB are easy to get later in the draft. Phillips, Beckwith, Freeman, McKillop, and a few other guys can be had on day 2. They may not have the measurables of Rey or the hype, but they all have very solid instincts and are sure tacklers. Schwartz said that he wanted his MLB to be a thumper and downhill tackler, and we'll be able to find that on day 2.

The reality is that we were 0-16 and we need talent everywhere. CJ was the only starter last year that could have started on another NFL roster. We need help everywhere. We took BPA and it was the right move, IMO. Delmas will provide a lot of scheme versatility for us.
