As much as Dana likes to pretend that he'll keep people around that fight hard and exciting, it's not really true. You have to win. McCrory suffers by not being a TUF fighter with exposure.

We'll see if he's going to go down to the minors and get a couple of wins before coming back, or if he has truly been released and will pop up with Strikeforce.

Kind of too bad. Barncat was a funny character.

But it seems these guys are often told to win a couple outside the UFC then come back.

Look at Trigg, Hallman, and Marcus Aurellio. All 3 were cut, and after a decent win streak are all coming back.

Melvin Guillard went 3-3 (just like Barncat), got cut, and then won 1 fight, and is back, and then has won 2 fights in the UFC.

Same with Jason MacDonald, I really enjoy watching him fight, but he was told to win a couple outside the UFC and they'll re-sign him.

Macdonald went 5-5 in the UFC, and his losses were to top quality MWs, (Quarry might be more middle caliber)
    Franklin
    Okami
    Maia
    Wilson Gouveia
    Nate Quarry.

Don't like this... McCrory was a good young fighter.

Now that I think more, maybe McCrory will move up to 185, and Dana wants him to take a few fights out of the UFC to get used to it?

    Maybe?

    That could be possible?

If he can get a few wins outside the UFC, I think he'll be back. He is an exciting fighter.

Re: Following UFC 101 losses, Thales Leites, Dan Cramer, George Roop cut from UFC

Tamdan McCrory was also cut for losing at this event.

    UFC trimming the fat again.

Leites would be a good pickup for anyone, especially Strikeforce.

Cramer wasn't given enough of a shot in my eyes.

    Thinning out the divisions again.

I'm not shocked Leites got the boot. His performance against Silva was a fucking disgrace.

McCrory and Leites weren't actually cut apparently...

No denying that but after seeing Forrest try to stand with Silva can you really blame him? Guy's fucking lethal standing up. At least on the ground one might have a glimmer of hope in beating Silva.

Wow, we even had reactions from Leites regarding being cut. Don't know where this stuff gets started.

So supposedly Dana White didn't know that these guys were being let go--perhaps some miscommunication between White and Joe Silva, or perhaps the fan reaction changed their minds--and they won't be. At least Leites and McCrory are being brought back (if they wish). Good news since I don't think either of them deserved to be axed.

    Are they?

I just read an article that they weren't?

    http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=9374

I think they are quality guys, and deserve 1 more fight to get a win. I could understand the UFC cutting either one of them if the lose their next fight. (and obviously if they can win like 2 fights outside the UFC then they they'll be brought back).

lol, ok it seems they are cut. Well I felt they both deserved another fight.
