"Wayne Fleming has been hired by the Tampa Bay Lightning, officially ending his one-year stay on the Edmonton Oilers coaching staff.

The Lightning have also signed forward Marc Pouliot, who was sent into the free-agent pool after the Oilers opted not to qualify his contract last month.

Fleming, an assistant on Pat Quinn's staff in Edmonton, will work with first-year head coach Guy Boucher and assistants Daniel Lacroix and Martin Raymond after getting a two-year deal.

The 60-year-old Fleming was offered the same two years by the Oilers to stay aboard with new head coach Tom Renney. But the money wasn't good enough in Fleming's estimation and by then he was also juggling interest from Tampa Bay."

I belove Tampa is going to be a great team this season. With Stevie Y in the organization, and the talent they have and are getting. They will be a new team to beat in the East imo.
