I kinda want number 3 and the kid from Bama, think he’s legit and will start immediately. Wemby scares the fuck out of me, 7’6 pencil legs for the Portland Trail Blazers, what could go wrong?

Kind of an Oden/Durant do-over, but this time we get the sweet shooting forward and someone else gets the center with the wonky knees?

    I would not draft Wemby!
Victor was sidelined from December 12, 2020, to March 13, 2021, due to a fibula stress fracture he sustained while still playing for Espoirs Nanterre. Victor had previously suffered from a fractured finger, which required him to miss the action from 6 November to 2 December 2021.

We'll have our crack team of draft analysts handle it.
They will work so hard they might need a break.
Hopefully they don't argue and fracture their committee.
Especially if they are split on their opinions.
In all, I think they have a good supporting cast.

Interesting to see if he moves up. Most mocks have him around 27th, (We could get him with NY's pick) but it is only March so predictions will change for sure.

If Orlando wins one game against their non Blazers opponent, and the Blazers lose out (including one loss to Orlando), then at worst Orlando would have two more wins than they do today and thus both teams would be tied.

So excluding Blazers games, we are hoping for one Orlando win and then the Blazers control their destiny for at least a share of the 5th spot.

There will be some kind of tie breaker, and the Magic would somehow win it.

There is no tie breaker for the ping pong balls, both teams split them. At 5 and 6 it's more likely one of the teams is in the top4. If both teams are outside the top 4 a coin toss determines the tiebreaker.

Indiana played some crappy basketball down the stretch and chocked away a victory in Charlotte.
This shows how important it is that Indiana does have one more victory than the Trail Blazers.

Two years in a row isn't really continuous.... and Dame was out last year.

This year we haven't been able to stay healthy either... although I think it was a stealth tank for quite a while.

The Pacers have had 2 bad seasons in the last 14 seasons (by "bad" I mean winning %'s under 40%). I don't know if I'd consider 2 years continuously.

Actually, the tie-breakers are conducted before the lottery.
In 2021, the Thunder and Cavaliers tied for the 4th worst record in the NBA.
The Thunder won the "coin toss," which was reported to really be determined by ping pong balls.
The Thunder and Cavaliers still shared the same odds in the lottery.

The tie breaker became moot when the Cavaliers won the 3rd pick in the lottery.

The Thunder ended up with the 6th pick after the Cavaliers and Raptors jumped ahead of them.

so by this logic, should the Bulls have cut bait on MJ after he broke his foot in year 2?

Every single player suffers injuries, but not all injuries are equal. When evaluating a prospect from that front, broken bones in years past aren't nearly the red flag that ligament injuries to knees, feet and back are. I'd expect any team with a clue would have it's medical experts evaluating body mechanics to determine how well various prospects are put together. Are their legs the same length, is their spine straight etc... I truly don't know what sort of access teams have in evaluating a prospect (a full body MRI for all to look at would be nice), but it's pretty silly to be siting a broken finger and being out less then a month as a reason not to draft someone.

It's the Blazers we are talking about. More concerned about that fibula.
