I've been wanting to build a couple of new computers for my dad and me for over a year now. My dad is funny, whenever I build a new computer he has me build one for him exactly the same. That way if he has a problem I know how to fix it, lol.

But the worldwide chip shortage has kept prices really high.

Anyway, I was looking at the latest Costco ad when I saw this:

    https://www.costco.com/msi-aegis-zs...n-rx-6600---windows-11.product.100851306.html

I priced out the individual parts, CPU, Video Card, SSD, Ram, Power supply, etc and it's a great deal. The quality of the case surprised me. Usually, they'll slam stuff in a shit case but this is nice. I was able to slip my two hard drives from my old computer with no problem.

I bought my last PC from Origin. Which I purchased probably even like 8 years ago now. It’s done well… I’ve only had to replace one SSD in it since I bought it. GPU still runs games well. I haven’t played much recently so idk about the newest most GPU taxing games. Overwatch played just fine with high graphics but that was years ago.

Used to go to Fry’s rather than buying online, but they’ve gone the way of “Incredible Universe”. I guess you have to shop online for GPU’s, CPU’s, RAM, HD’s and Motherboards now.

I also don’t think I’ve ever had an AMD CPU in my computers. Always been intel, and most have been fairly prefabricated.

I’m trying to remember what my current CPU chipset is… I’m pretty sure it’s Intel. I also don’t know about the 1990’s HP Pavilion desktop, but I think that was Intel too.

Tis been a cold and frigid winter. Remind PA to keep the horses in the barn. Send my regards to the Duncans; I was sorry to hear what you said about their chicken crossing the road. The others saw your previous letter and won’t stop asking why it tried to. Alas, I must keep this short. The mutant crab people have invaded the Antarctic shore again. I hope this letter finds you well.

The firm I'm working at just bought a couple PCs from Costco.. we would normally have had them built also, but with the chip shortage, we were happy to find something that fit our needs and was delivered in just a couple days.

This would be a good line for a poster for whomever the Dems run against Trump.

Has he ever messed with Kerbal Space Program? If spaceflight interests him at all, that'd be a fun game.. hell, you'd probably like it too.
