Rockets forward Maurice Taylor will meet with NBA officials today in New York in an effort to have his 10-day suspension for violating the NBA/NBPA anti-drug program reduced or overturned.

Taylor, who traveled with the Rockets, declined to comment on today's hearing. He warmed up before Sunday's game, but he was required to leave the building 90 minutes before the tip. The players association filed an expedited appeal Nov. 7, the day Taylor's suspension was announced.

NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre confirmed the meeting is scheduled, but he could not provide any other details.

Taylor was suspended for five games at the start of the 2002-03 season for a previous violation of the anti-drug policy. He said he was suspended for marijuana use. The policy, however, would not assess a 10-game suspension for marijuana use, but it could be given for other forms of "non-compliance with treatment." </div>

The Rockets could really use Mo Taylor back in the line-up right now. I hope for the team's sake, the suspension is either reduced or overturned.
