A teacher who allegedly fired a gun at a Georgia high school was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after barricading himself in a classroom for nearly an hour. No students at Dalton High School were hurt directly in the incident or remained in danger after they were evacuated as the crisis unfolded, according to Dalton police. The teacher — identified as Randall Davidson, 53 — initially barricaded himself in an empty classroom at about 11:30 a.m. ET as confused students tried to get in, police spokesman Bruce Frazier said at a news conference. There were then reports that a gun was fired. Davidson, a social studies teacher, surrendered after 30 to 45 minutes, police said. Dalton High School Principal Steve Bartoo said he was called by an assistant principal and told that a teacher wasn't letting students into his classroom — that he tried to open the door but the teacher slammed it and yelled "go away" and made some "nonsensical noises. When Bartoo go the the room with a key the teacher slammed the door again and warned he had a gun. "I put my key in the door and again he slammed the door before I could open it and said ‘Don’t come in here, I have a gun,'" Bartoo told reporters. He said he put the school into lockdown and "it was shortly after that that I heard a gunshot." "We thank God that nobody got hurt," Bartoo said. A bullet had gone through an exterior window of the room, but it didn't appear Davidson was aiming at any person, Frazier added. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...-after-report-shots-fired-high-school-n851986
NEWFOUNDLAND, Pa. — Crown-wearing worshippers clutching AR-15 rifles drank holy wine and exchanged or renewed wedding vows in a commitment ceremony at a Pennsylvania church on Wednesday, prompting a nearby school to cancel classes. With state police and a smattering of protesters standing watch outside the church, brides clad in white and grooms in dark suits brought dozens of unloaded AR-15s into World Peace and Unification Sanctuary for a religious event that doubled as an advertisement for the Second Amendment. The church, which has a worldwide following, believes the AR-15 symbolizes the “rod of iron” in the book of Revelation, and encouraged couples to bring the weapons. An AR-15 was used in the Florida high school massacre on Feb. 14. The Rev. Sean Moon, who leads the church, prayed for “a kingdom of peace police and peace militia where the citizens, through the right given to them by almighty God to keep and bear arms, will be able to protect one another and protect human flourishing.” Moon is the son of the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah who founded the Unification Church, which critics regard as a cult. The younger Moon’s congregation is a breakaway faction of the Unification Church, which had distanced itself from Wednesday’s event. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/02/28/pennsylvania-church-ceremony-guns/383815002/
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but hmmmmmm...... Just a coincidence I bet. Luckily nothing more happened. With a regular handgun or two and a few clips/magazines (like I care if that's right) he could have killed his entire class.
Students should have guns to protect themselves from teachers. But school districts can't afford it. So one gun should hang on a nail in the classroom wall, for common use. (I got the idea from remembering that in 1st grade, a paddle hung on the wall for my teacher's use.)
what in the actual fuck? Those pictures look like it's from some weird 80's cult movie. I think the weirdest hting about guns isn't the guns itself, but the weird obsession/love affair/disconnect from reality that so many of the gun owners have.
