This is a real shame for Team GB, they need to prove that they are worthy of playing in the 2012 Olympics. They have been pretty unlucky with injuries/contract situations that have stopped their stars from playing. When you look at their 4 or 5 best players, though, they're not a bad team with Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Joel Freeland all eligible. Furthermore there were rumours that Kelenna Azubuike might be able to play as well, which would be a pretty good capture, given the lack of depth outside of those other guys. Hopefully they will be able to prove they are good enough to play in 2012, else it will be a sad day that Britain can't put forward a basketball team at their own Olympics.
