I want Jameer Nelson to start along with Dwight and Darko. If at all possible I'd like to see Hedo be 6th man. I don't know what can be done. Deshawn is good now but I would also like to see him coming off the bench.
I still think Stevenson will be a good fit for this offense once Jameer, Dwight, and Darko pan out. Ariza won't be too bad, but I'd like to see them come up with an outside shooter to strattle at small forward. You guys have a great future, I'll say that much.
We should get a Top 5 pick, so maybe Morrison, Gay, or at worst Carney from Memphis for the SG/SF spot. Sorry for "Jameer hating", but honestly I would rather see Arroyo start. He gets the ball to Dwight better than anyone. Ideally I would like Jameer and Hedo off of the bench. Both are instant offense off of the bench and we won't fall behind when the bench comes out. Jameer needs to realize that not starting isn't the end of the world. Hedo loves coming off of the bench. The second 5 is just as important as the starting 5, because once they get into foul trouble or need to be taken out, we need people that can jump right in and play.
This is what you should put your line-up as. C- Tony Battie PF- Dwight Howard SF- Hedo Turkoglu SG- Deshawn Stevenson PG- Jameer Nelson DArko Milicic is not ready to start. That would be a sin starting him. I would probably try n get him about 20 MPG if possible.
That's the perfect lineup for the Magic right now, Diesel. Putting Milicic out there that quickly to start games, would, as you said, be a sin. I don't think he's mentally prepared for that; Orlando needs to ease him into the lineup so he's not psyched out by all the playing time (regardless of what he says).
What they are doing with Darko right now is perfectly fine. They are easing him into it, and now he gets 11 minutes and produces 8 Points. His Minutes will go up and we will know when he is ready to start if that ever is the case. I like what they have set up for the future. Set up Cap Space, and draft picks to the point where it's perfect. Major Props to Smith and Tzwardzik for what they have done so far. They might already have the makings of a deep bench in place. Arroyo, Stevenson(Assuming they get someone better to start and Stevenson doesn't bust out and keeps at his current pace, which is a decent player), Ariza if they decide to bring him back(they should), and of course Hedo who is has really turned my opinion on signing him.
I think we should get a sg to back up Deshawn, he is very underrated Imo esspecially offensively, do you guys remember what he was doing toward the end of last season? I think he can pretty much get his shot any time he wants but he seems to be one of the only players that understands that we are trying to develop Dwight. He is a great fit for this team
Also Deshawn has a messed up knee. He has been playing through pain. I think he could still be a very capable player. He's a very good defensive player with very good slashing ability(finishing ability is iffy at best though) and a developing jumper(starting to get good)
Deshawn was a great finisher at the begining of the season I think the knee injury is to blame for his not finishing of late. He doesn't seem to have the hops that he had at the begining of the year.
