It will be interesting to see how Kerr tries to solve this problem.
Re: Team Source Says It's 50/50 That The Suns Trade Marion If the right deal comes along I'll do it. If we also get Camby in a deal for KT and get good talent for Marion we can still compete.
Re: Team Source Says It's 50/50 That The Suns Trade Marion This is where losing that Atlanta pick hurts the most. Had they landed that pick they could have taken someone like a Brandan Wright or a Corey Brewer and would find themselves in a better position to trading Marion. A couple Marion rumors that have floated around that could have a realistic chance of happening if they do indeed deal Marion.Shawn Marion to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace and the #22 pick (or)Shawn Marion to Washington for Antawn Jamison and the #16 pickWith Gerald Wallace you basically get a Marion clone who is a few years younger, he can defend, rebound, block shots, play the passing lanes and even play the #4 effectively (at times). With Jamison you get someone who is better offensively, he can stretch the defense with his long range shooting and he is a pretty good rebounder but his defense is lacking. Also either of these trades would allow the Suns to put together a better package for say a Marcus Camby with a combination of picks, KT and James Jones.
Re: Team Source Says It's 50/50 That The Suns Trade Marion I would not mind getting Jamison and the #16 pick if we get Camby. Like some of the guys at ASFN said, getting Camby and improving the interior D will help us get over losing Marion's rebounding + defense and with Jamison we get a guy who steps up in the playoffs, can give us some scoring at the position and also is a good rebounder. Then they could also use one of the draft picks to get rid of Banks and then have those other 2 to try and trade up like they want to do...
Re: Team Source Says It's 50/50 That The Suns Trade Marion Getting Gerald Wallace would be my top choice (besides getting the number 5 from Boston). I think something could be worked out too, it would benefit both teams, lets just hope Charlotte are interested.

Unless the Suns go out and trade Marion in a sign & trade with Orlando for Darko or Charlotte for Wallace they aren't going to dump 8 million off the cap this summer as he has ordered. The only thing they could do is to deal for expiring contracts (I.e. Marion/Jamison or Banks/Ollie etc...) and have those come off the books next summer.
