He played good. I wish he would take some shots though. Even with Lebron, Kobe, Melo, Miller, and Redd on the team. [IMG]

I mean I guess he isn't needed to score but I mean at least put up a couple of FG attempts. I'm glad he's rackin up those assists tho. Hey Legacy, I'm trying to help out and make the Nets forum more exciting

Like I said in the Olympic Basketball forum, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James seem to be the "faces" of Team USA, but Jason Kidd is the one who brings them all together. Jason Kidd is the leader of the team, and Team USA will only go as far as he goes. You can have a team filled with talented scorers left and right, but if you don't have someone to bring the talent together, it's worthless.

For the second night in a row, Team USA barely worked up a sweat as it defeated a smaller opponent, this time the Virgin Islands, 123-59. Jason Kidd took one shot, a three pointer, and made it. He also racked up five assists in 17 minutes of play. Michael Redd and Carmelo Anthony led Team USA with 22 each, followed by Amare Stoudemire and Mike Miller with 13 each. The Americans don't play again til Saturday afternoon when they go up against Team Canada at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.</div>

Anyone see his off the backboard pass to LeBron James against the Virgin Islands? That was sick. I think Jason Kidd is the best point guard in the NBA right now. You can make an argument for Steve Nash but I know if I were a general manager who needed one more piece to win now, I'd go with Kidd. He's the ultimate playmaker and I've actually modeled a lot of my game around him as well. He's an amazing passer and a great leader. Definitely one of the best players in the league and he is definitely underrated at this point in his career.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It wouldn't have mattered if Team Canada had persuaded Jamaal Magloire to join its ranks. The Americans once again thorougly dominated an Americas Cup opponent, 113-63 and Jason Kidd once again contributed without taking a shot. Kidd had five rebounds, four assists and a block in a mere 13 minutes of play, his shortest tenure yet. Kidd is now 31-0 in international play. Carmelo Anthony led Team USA with 25. Next up: Brazil at 9 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2</div>

Sharing the role with up and coming Deron Williams. Plus, no need for him to play a ton of minutes.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Brazil, with height and speed, is supposed to be Team USA's main rival for the Americas Cup championship. It didn't look that way Sunday as the US throttled South America's best team, 113-76, leading by more than 40 in the third. The Americans had three 20-point scorers in Carmelo Anthony, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. Jason Kidd, now 32-0 in international play, had four points and five assists in 15 minutes. The US plays Mexico on Monday as teams begin the medal round. </div>
