The Titans held their first practice for the 2010 season on Tuesday, and their best player was a no-show.

Running back Chris Johnson, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, was absent as the Titans began organized workouts at Baptist Sports Park, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Why Johnson was a no-show is no secret — he wants a new contract. In January he told The Tennessean he'd like to be the league's highest paid offensive player.

CJ is one hell of a good RB. He was my one two punch along with LT/Ray Rice during my fantasy league. I just hate it how players demand so much money.

Uhg. Money ruins everything. Especially for the Titans.

Chris Johnson is a douche bag. He has one great year and he thinks he's fucking LT, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, etc...Be consistently great and you'll get paid like it, CJ.

You do realize Chris Johnson now holds the all time record for total yards from scrimmage in a single season, right? He was also only the 6th running back ever to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season. And he did all this playing for a team with no legitimate passing threat to speak of. He was the NFL's offensive player of the year, and he wants to get paid like it. Honestly, he needs to rack up as much money as he can now, because if you have heard him speak you know he is a complete idiot.
