    This simply show who voted for which Presidential candidate, not the overwhelming support for one party or the other.

    Reagan won because even solid Dems couldn't bring themselves to vote for an obviously incompetent Mondale. Trump won because Hillary was exposed as a criminal. For most other candidates (Congress, Governors, State Senate...), the states usually voted along party lines. Interstate Migration and immigration are the obvious main factors in long term change of political power among the states.

    Back to racism, which now mainly rears it's ugly head in large metropolis centers ruled exclusively by the Dems.
