<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>He hasn’t been a Net for very long, or been in the New York area, but Brook Lopez is rapidly gaining fans among the media. If he had media training, it didn’t take and that’s fine with Bill Simmons of ESPN, Craig Carlton of WFAN and just about anybody nearby with a camera. They think he’s funny. Ryan Anderson is no stiff either … get it? no stiff?</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bilas calls Rose a "special, special talent," followed by Van Gundy calling Michael Beasley a "special talent" and Mark Jackson calling O.J. Mayo a "special basketball player," and then Bilas agreeing that Beasley is a "special talent." That's why Rose went ahead of Beasley and Mayo -- he's more than a special basketball player and a special talent, he's a special, special talent. Anyway, that was a special sequence.

OK, now we're on the clock...</div>

Great comment. The analysis of these 'experts' on ESPN is always so damn shallow. "He's a special player who can shoot the ball, pass the rock, and play defense." Damn, what great analysis.

As if it wasn't bad enough that these picks with five minute time limits were stretched to ten minutes every time Jay Bilas had some useless comment to add.

On the topic though, yeah, the Lopez's are engaging personalities. I didn't realize until the draft. I almost wanted to see Robin slip to the late 1st just to see his reaction.

EDIT: Still reading Simmons' draft night report. Great stuff imo, but anyway, I thought you guys might like this -

"(By the way, for what the Nets "got" in that trade, they should just buy out Simmons, then use the extra money to erect a 50-foot billboard across the street from LeBron's house that says, "We have loads of cap space in 2010!" with the Nets logo in the corner. Because that could be the only explanation.)"

    And more...

"New Jersey happily and graciously takes Brook Lopez with the 10th pick. Brook? Not so happy. He's still reeling from the past seven picks.

(Come on, Brook, look at the bright side -- you get to kick Chairman Yi's butt in practice every day for the next five years, and if that's not enough, you can learn how to fake injuries from Vince Carter and become teammates with LeBron James in two years. Things are looking up, buddy.)"

I read that whole thing from Simmons, and I want that ~20 minutes of my life back.
