The last thread was 10 pages deep and wasn't getting a lot of views, so I decided to make a newer one. This will also rule out any Ron Artest trades, since half of the last thread was filled with his name.

I'm sick of the Lamar Experiment. He sucks, it's time for him to go get stoned and then show up somewhere else for games, because I'm seriously SICK of him.

Atlanta Trades: Al Harrington, Josh Childress
    Atlanta Receives: Lamar Odom

    L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom
L.A. Receives: Al Harrington, Josh Childress

    It works salary-cap wise.

Why?: Becuase Al Harrington is consistent. He grabs 7 boards, only two shy of what Lamar does. Did I mention he's consistent? Yeah, I think I did mention he was consistent. Oh, I love the consistency. Oh, did I mention that Josh Childress is involved? Yeha, he is consistent, as well.

    --------------------------------------------------
Over the summer, it was rumored that the Celtics offered Pierce for Odom, but we turned it down. With Wally in Boston, trading for Pierce is much more flexible. How about:

    Boston Trades: Paul Pierce
Boston Receives: Lamar Odom, Slava Medvedenko

L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom, Slava Medvedenko
    L.A. Receives: Paul Pierce

Why?: Paul Pierce if from Los Angeles. Paul Pierce is also capable of rebounding and passing the ball. To Lamar's extent? No. But Pierce would give us a second consistent scorer and penetrator. As long as he and Kobe could share the ball, the Lakers would be set with help, they would just need their role players to step up every night.
    -------------------------------------------------
Then there is New Orleans we can try to deal with. They're in a rebuilding process and J.R. Smith is on the outs there. He has talent loaded up to space, but he needs the work ethic for it to be utilized. Kobe can do that with him. They also have a hard-nosed PF that has been in a lot of Lakers minds, PJ Brown.

New Orleans Hornets Trade: J.R. Smith, PJ Brown, Bostjan Nachbar
New Orleans Receives: Lamar Odom (remember what Odom did with a rookie Wade? He could have a nice duo with Chris Paul)

    L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom
L.A. Receives: J.R. Smith, PJ Brown, Bostjan Nachbar

Why?: First of all, we get PJ Brown. A hard-nosed power forward who is not afraid to bang. He can hit the mid-range jumper, also. We also get J.R. Smith, who has fallen out of favor in New Orleans. He has talent, a lot of it. It just needs to be put to work, and Kobe could install that determination in him because he's been in the same situation. A young sg/sf straight out of HS trying to make it in the league.

Why would they trade their only player able to play center, plus a young promising SG? And for Odom? Very wishful thinking.

yeah they should have kept caron... he'd automatically be the 2nd scorer for the lakers... hmmm i'm thinking the lakers should get rid of their trash players like slava, mckie, the lakers should trade:

lakers trade: slava medvedenko and aaron mckie
lakers get: Anyone any team is willing to trade for these two guys.

I love the Paul Pierce trade, I would even throw in our 2006 Miami pick as well. Paul Pierce would be perfect as the initiator for the Lakers. Imagine him taking those same perimeter shots Odom gets. Paul Pierce would make teams pay for doubling off of Kobe. If Kobe is struggling, you can count on Pierce to carry the offensive load. Pierce would have no problem scoring 20+ PPG every night, not every 4 or 5 games for the Lakers. There are plenty of shots to go around in the Triangle as well, plus Pierce is great at getting to the charity stripe.

Why for Boston? In Boston Odom could be the ball handler the Celtics seem to be missing. There's a lot of young talent Odom can get the ball to. He can also help them out on the glass. Plus he gets to go back East where he can be effective out PF if Al Jefferson is having an off night. If the Celtics really think they have something with Gerald Green, maybe it's time to start seeing what he can do on the court by moving their current SG, Paul Pierce.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With Wally in Boston, trading for Pierce is much more flexible.</div> I dont understand this statement. So this is to say that now that the Celtics have acquired wally (for ricky davis) they now are able to deal Pierce as the acquisition of Szczerbiak will soften the blow of losing Pierce? Ricky Davis is better than Wally Szczerbiak.

^ Yea, knowing the length and size of Odom's contract.

I think those trades all are bad salary wise for those teams as well on the losing end talent wise. But doesn't Phil Jackson like Odom a lot? So it doesn't matter?

Weren't they saying he was untouchable even when regarding Ron Artest?

The Hornets are rebuilding, that's why. J.R. Smith is in the doghouse with coach Scott and has been rumored in trades already, possibly to Toronto. PJ Brown is not apart of their future because he's not getting any younger. He's also been rumored in trades the past couple of offseasons.

The Lakers have no pieces at all to get a superstar player. Andrew Bynum isn't enough to get a 25+ PPG type player. Lamar is inconsistent and his contract is horrible. The Lakers have to surround Kobe with solid role players until they have the capspace to pursue a star player.

^ Probably the most realistic trade proposition from a Laker fan I've seen on this board.

yeah and i think shapes trade will be really good for both teams. Odom can finally do what he wants and lakers also get a good shot blocker and also just watched outlaw the other night against the warriors, and man he was good. He can dunk like crazy.

I'm not sure why Portland would take Lamar Odom unless they plan to take him off the bench behind either Miles or Zach Randolph. Besides, Portland loves the "two headed" monster of Pryzbilla and Ratliff.

They are commited to developing their youth, and Odom isn't McMillans kind of player...

3 way deal with DET, LAL, NOK

    LAL: Outgoing: Lamar Odom
Incoming: Dale Davis and Jason Maxiell

DET: Outgoing: Milicic and Davis and Maxiell
    Incoming: JR Smith, PJ Brown

NOK: Outgoing: JR Smith, PJ Brown
    Incoming: Darko Milicic, Lamar Odom

    What do you think?

Lakers: Not getting enough they need a solid role player
Det: Good part of the deal for them
NOK: It would be a big steal

No way this deal is legit, Lakers just get Dale Davis old player and who? The Lakers are just killing themselves with this deal.

Maybe NOK and Detrot both give them a 1st rounder or two

after the last couple of games, i would have gladly went back in time to this off-season, take control of mitch's body, and traded odom away instead of caron.
