Okay, I just read a post, and several posts before, that this draft class is untalented and weak. But lets go through the top 8 picks of the draft:I think of this draft as a HUGE project*Andrea Bargnani:Okay, hes foreign, 1st overall pick, and when he came over didnt speak a word of english. Of course hes going to start slow, but recently hes been playing well.*LaMarcus Aldridge:He is a project, Portland is taking Aldridge VERY slow and nicely develop him.Adam Morrison:Hes one of few rookies getting significant minutes, and hes producing like a good rookie he is.*Tyrus Thomas:Got drafted to a championship contending team, and his positions sf-pf is nicely fitted with Nocioni, Deng, and PJ BrownSheldon Williams:He wasnt drafted to get alotve points and become a franchise player, he was drafted to become a huge rebounder and a monster in the middleBrandon Roy:Hes had injuries his rookie season, but he produces big for Portland when he plays significant minutesRandy Foye:PLEASE play this rookie, he is a victim of no PT, hes been getting some lately, which has resulted in a couple 15+ point games*Rudy Gay:He started off pretty well, but we slowly saw his minutes slip away from him, but with Fratello gone and Barone in, he will sure get enough minutes, and with minutes Rudy never fails to produce for the grizzlies. Barone is noted to say "Rudy wont come out until he drops".These are all understandable and true reasons why our rookies havent been producing like past rookies.*team projects, not expected to become stars in rookie season

This was a very weak draft class, I actually think that most players in the lottery will end up just being role players in the NBA. Some of the drafted players who weren't in the lottery are actually proving themsleves nicely, such as Marcus Williams. Most of these players are just like small building blocks but in a way they are projects, the franchises hope for them to get better, however most of these players didnt help their franchises out too much.

It definitely isn't a 2003, and that's why people are saying it's weak. It's a very average draft class. No phenoms, that's why they say it's weak. I don't think it's that bad, they are all long term guys. It just isn't a good draft class.

I think it's a average/below average draft class. I don't think many of these players have a shot at an all-star game and none at a MVP...it's filled with future #3 options on offense in my opinion. Nothing special about it.

Anyways if it was filled with #3 options and it continued, the #1 options would eventually be gone, slowly destroying the NBA.

That's what I mean by the NBA being slowly destroyed. It's a scary thought.

this is a project draft....Bargnani, Gay and Aldridge will all be stars. I think Foye would be getting 15ppg+ and some assist if he got more PT in Minnesota.

There are only 3 players from that class who will become all-stars: Adam Morrison, Lamarcus Aldbridge, and Tyrus Thomas

I can see some of these guys doing well later in their careers, but nobody in this draft was chart-topping, you know? I'll give dap to Adam Morrison, though. I think he'll come out later in his career to be a pretty good player. Maybe not a superstar, but still a pretty good player.. A little bit above average.
