Since this is the Lakers Skybox, I want to know what you all really think of the game between the Heat and Lakers. All gloves off, but without the cursing...what do you think? I'm not going to reply just yet...
I think there where messed up calls that went both ways thought hat where not what made the decision of the game. Kobe did not score after Shaq fouled out which was one reason we lost, and I think to try and prove something to him, and it worked, but he stopped doing it after Shaq went out. So that is another reason for the lose. In my opinion it was the Lakers game to lose from start to finish not the Heats game to win.
I'm not all that pissed, really. We hung damn well with an elite team. Our defense was swarming. Odom was contributing. Kobe musta gotten tired or something at the end...cuz that's just unheard of...going scoreless in OT.
Kinda disgusted really. Kobe tried to go out there and prove a point..he was hot, but cooled off a lot. That really hurt us. Lamar should of got the last shot in OT too IMO, he was feeling it..you give it to the player that is feeling it..
Okay, my turn. I was amped when Shaq picked up his 6th foul. It was probably the best thing that I've seen all season long (other than the Laker win against the Kings in ARCO). Wade missing that final shot in the 4th was beautiful, but Mihm missing the rebound right before that shot was making me sick. On Odom's shooting in OT...he was hot, but it didn't make up for the ignorant fouls he was committing. On Kobe's shooting at the beginning: incredible. At the end, it wasn't his to shoot, but someone else needed to move and get the ball. Kobe was the ONLY one that used his screen to get outside and receive the inbounds pass. In my opinion...we should've gotten a two-pointer...but oh well. Also, Kobe should've continued to play hard after Shaq was out...but the Heat were a running team without O'Neal, and that hurt us. Plus, this game should NOT have went into overtime. Once Mihm missed that rebound, I was pissed. Shaq's BS at the end of the game...his comments, and the way he acted at the beginning...was very immature. Kobe proved to be the bigger man, by approaching him first, by commenting the Heat after the game, and by saying Shaq played great. My thoughts? I was angry that we couldn't finish them off...but we sure looked great out there against an Eastern Conference threat.
great game by the lakers but too bad about OT. the only good thing was that shaq was fouled out. i loved the look on his sorry face.
The thing I liked the most about the game, when Shaq made that nasty allyoop from Dooling, when he was running back the floor, he looked on the way of Snoop Dogg who was sitting courtside, and yelled: "I built this sh!t". That was hilarious.
Yea..Shaq didnt build anything without the help of Kobe. If he didn't realize..before he was teammed up with Kobe he was just a superstar. When Kobe came L.A. got the the finals 4 times, winning 3...I think he had a lot of help building it...
Let me just elaborate a little more on that, Matt. Shaq arrived in 1996. The Lakers had a 53-win season the year before. With the arrival of Shaq, they won 56 games, +3 because of his arrival...but they lost to the Jazz 4-1 in the second round of the playoffs. Next season...Lakers win 61 games, but lose in the WCF's against the Jazz once again, 4-0. In the 1998-1999 season (50 game season), the Lakers won 31 of those games, but were swept by the Spurs in the playoffs, 4-0. It looked as if we weren't ever going to avoid the sweeps. Then...the rest is history. The Lakers won a huge 67 games the next season, the same season Kobe started to break out, and the Lakers won a ring...and two more after that. Shaq built what?
