<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to ESPN, the Warriors and the Mavericks have agreed in principle to a deal sending Erick Dampier to Dallas.

Eduardo Najera, Christian Laettner, two future first-round picks and cash would go to Golden State. In return, the Mavericks would acquire Dampier, center Evan Eschmeyer and guard Dan Dickau.

The deal cannot become official until trade restrictions on Laettner and Dickau expire later this summer. Both have recently been acquired so the deal can only be agreed upon in principle now.

Dampier is passing up the Hawks' $50 million offer over six years. The Knicks and Pacers also pursued the big man.

Dampier averaged 12.3 points and 12.0 rebounds last season and finished third in the league in field-goal percentage at 53.5 percent.</div>

Well that really has to suck for new york now they have almost no option at the 5 spot after trading mutombo baker is a damaged goods type of player. We never know when he will have a relapes of his drinking problems. Then Nazir Muhamid is unproven so there only solid big man is kurt thomas as they also traded weatherspoon last season and harrington.

i never realized until just recntly what a sqaud the knicks have been building in the offseason.

I think damp couldve have fit in very nicely with the knicks which could have been the missing piece to push them over this year. but i was really impressed with muhammad last year so maybe he can impress even more next year and put up dampier esque numbers.

btw i didnt know dampier was that swole until i saw him in that pic up there.
