<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Big Finisher Salim Stoudamire Eager to Prove Prime Time is His Time By Jon Cooper Salim Stoudamire has a long memory and he won?t soon forget the moment his name was called the night of the 2005 NBA Draft. It was the first pick of the second round. There was no handshake and photo-op with NBA Commissioner David Stern. Instead, it was a pat on the back from Deputy Commissioner Russ Granik then a shove to the side for the Charlotte Bobcats, whose pick was next in the two-minute lightning round. ?While I was watching [the Draft] I was kind of getting that sour feeling in my stomach because I saw so many people go ahead of me that I thought I was better than,? said Stoudamire, who played four years at the University of Arizona, where he finished as the school?s fourth all-time leading scorer. ?I had my family over to my house. When I heard my name I was by my mother, everyone jumped for joy.? But that joy is tempered and the Portland, Ore., native, is using his first-round slight as motivation for his rookie campaign. ?It?s made me more determined, to prove people wrong,? he said. ?I thought I should have gone earlier, but that?s the luck of the draw.? From the Hawks? perspective, their luck was golden. ?We?re really pleased to have Salim,? said Hawks Executive Vice President and General Manager Billy Knight. ?If we could have gotten another pick we would have [selected him] earlier.? ?I?m surprised he slipped as far as he did,? added Hawks Vice President - Baskeball Dominique Wilkins. ?Fortunately he did because we got a steal in a tough kid who can play either guard spot and is going to give us a lot of production on the floor. </div> Read The Rest
I can't wait to see Salim tear up the league. Salim is deftiniteley better than a lot of the guys drafted ahead of him and a number of guys already in the NBA.
I cannot wait to him play either, he is a good player with a great jumper and he has a chip on his shoulder so it is going to be even better seeing him play.
I was kind of skeptical about him because of his attitude, but after that 40-something point game in the summer L, i changed my mind.

It was 39 in the RMR if I'm not mistaken, and he reminds me a lot of his cousin, Damon but just more of a combo gaurd not a prototypical PG. Salim may be undersized but his shooting abilty covers up for his size. Stoudamire is going to be good, I just can't wait to see him play.
