I know I speak for a lot of fellow football fans when I say that the NFL can take the blackout rule and shove it up their astroturf. Beside the fact that it doesn't work at all, it completely ignores the fact that the NFL has thousands and thousands of fans in every football town who don't have the ability to go to the game because of illness or injury, finances, transportation, age, disability, etc. etc. If the NFL wants to make sure that games sell-out, they need to think about lowering the outrageous ticket prices instead of enforcing this ridiculous blackout rule. So, I think it's time we start trying to do something about it. After a little digging, I found a phone number and address for the NFL. Maybe if they get enough phone calls and letters they'll start to understand how many of their fans they're pissing off! So, write a letter, make a phone call, and tell all your friends, relatives, enemies, and coworkers to tell all their friends, relatives, enemies, and coworkers to write a letter or make a phone call, and let's end this silly rule forever! Address : NFL PUBLIC RELATIONS 280 PARK AVENUE NEW YORK, NY 10017 Phone : (212) 450 - 2000
Blackout rule? And one thing is they need to cut down on the PSL tickets. That makes getting single-game tickets toooooo hard. And I dont feel like spending tons of money to buy PSL seats.
You young guys crack me up. Each owner determines what constitues a sellout in his stadium. The stadium might actually hold 90K people, but the owner can say that only 65K are usable seats. That is the target number for a sell out. If the game is not "sold out" before the deadline (used to be noon Thurs.), the game will not be shown on local television. If the game has sold out, the home market will get the game. Someone help me here, but I think that the home market extends in all directions for 100 miles. So blackouts are a means by which owners of teams with lagging ticket sales can hold the home market hostage and force someone who wants to see the game to buy a seat... PSL or not.
