Ok I am warming up to the idea of offering a contract to Dellavedova.
At 6'4" he is a big PG who seems to be an adequate defender. (At least he tries to defend)
He has Finals experience and you know he is going to hustle his ass off.
I doubt the Cavs would match a 4 million (maybe not even a 3 mil) dollar a year contract and at 24 he fits our age criteria.

I am looking for a big back up PG. Who else is out there?

Not a fan..Delladova had two good defensive games, can't shoot, has a clumsy game. He went all out when his number was called and played himself into exhaustion after those 2 games..To me..Tim Frazier has more upside than Delly. Dellysanity lasted about 70 minutes

signing Dellevadova for 4M (and CLE writers are projecting they'll offer him 5M) would mean that CLE pays 15M in tax just for him, meaning it's a 19M hit for them to pay Del for 1 year.

From an analytics standpoint he doesn't warrant much of a contract. I just can't see the Cav's going farther over the cap for him. It's not like I am in love with his game, but that he seems to be one of the last few big PG's available.

As a Cavs fan ( much like Blazers fans talking about the players) Dellevadova is untouchable.

His shot really is NOT good, and I tend to think that his defense was very specifically useful against Curry, because Curry is actually not particularly fast or athletic. I dread to think what he'd be like against someone like Westbrook, Wall or (say) Ty Lawson.

I'd forgotten that Kendall Marshall had had the ACL tear, so that explains why he's still on the market, but if he gets better I'm on board with him, just because he's an amazing passer, he's large, and we need somebody who can throw lobs. Ideally we'll try to run at every opportunity, so we need a really good PG who can look ahead and deliver pinpoint passes. And as we're going to suck anyway, I won't mind his awful defense so much.
