He fires offensive coordinator Jim Fassel after they lost to Carolina. Apparently, some Ravens are mad about how the offense is playing and the players they are calling. Most obvious is Jamal Lewis, he says he deserves more carries and Derrick Mason who is mad because he isn't recieving as much as he wants to. The defense is trying to hold themselves as well. Some fingers have been pointed towards Samari Rolle for the loss of the game. He allowed eight passes and was targeted eleven times in the game, both for touchdowns to Drew Carter and Steve Smith. He also struggled earlier in the season. Even though we are 4-2, I can only see the Ravens going a downward spiral... But so far, the best I can hope for is a Wild Card in the playoffs. The Bengals seem to lose the passing firepower and can't stop the run still, the Steelers are starting to get rejuvinated, and the Browns are fighting for the last spot in the division. But the Ravens have the most problems compared to others. Officially, as of today, Billick has just put himself out on the line when he fired Fassel. He says he is going to start calling the plays out on the field. And if we lose out to the Bengals and Steelers, I am willing to go for getting him fired. And let the rebuiding begin... The cap is going to screw us later and the Ravens only have a window frame for getting to the players in 2 years. I doubt we can get to the playoffs with a rookie coach next year. And if McNair can't do it this year, I am all for signing Chris Simms if he is available out in free agency and either let go McNair or re-sign Boller. The best situation would be letting Simms and Boller fight it out for starting QB. Because sooner or later, the injuries will catch up to McNair and we might as well start looking at the draft for some offensive linemen. ENOUGH SAID! Your thoughts?
