With the Blazers payroll so low, and the team generating more wins than most people expected, I wanted to find out how they compared to other teams in the league.

I first took the team payrolls from Basketballinsiders.com. I then divided the payroll by the extrapolated amount of season wins based on the teams winning percentage as of last night. Here are the results:

Not too big of a surprise, we find San Antonio and Golden State at the top of the list. Even though they have pretty large payrolls, they have the wins to support it. Toronto is #3 with a relatively low payroll and a very nice winning percentage. Portland sits at #4.

The bottom of the list? Even with their minimal team salary, Philadelphia only has a 0.138 winning percentage that will net them a projected 11 wins this year. That's $5,715,395 per win. Wow.

I'd say the future looks bright for this young Blazer squad!

Nice but Portland's salary number is a bit inflated by Varejao's salary that was acquired and waived just for a pick. Without that, it's even better.

Along with us, the Utah Jazz have positioned themselves with a talented, yet frugal roster.
If Exum pans out - that team could be scary good in the not so distant future.

Yeah I wonder what it would be for only players on the roster; ignoring waived or stretched salaries.
