    the lunacy of the statement was that he was calling prof gates stupid; the same professor gates who's widely considered one of the most important academics in his field in of expertise. and this idiot probably struggled just to get his high school diploma.

    Gates isn't particularly brilliant. His field is PC psuedo-academics. That being said, I'm quite certain he's smarter than the cop that wrote that e-mail.

    Why is it hard for people to consider that cops are stupid?

    Some are and to be fair it appears the professor was just as stupid by some of the words he apparently expressed. Dumb and Dumber might be the most appropriate headline for this entire situation.
