2017 is THE year that you want to have space PLUS be desirable (the last part is always hard for us).

I remember when the Clippers were in that boat...then Neil Olshey changed it all..they were the bottom feeding bus stop of the league

Oh man...... this is going to be hard some Blazer fans. Who think maybe we'll sign--Not Gunna Happen. But.... NOT GUNNA HAPPEN! Just like Dr. Evil, I have a big bag of "No Big Name Free Agent" SHUSSH, for you every time you open your mouth. Now you can silently cry at night in the belief that Kevin Durant will save us. Have fun with that, BTW.

    Very true.

Best case scenario: Dame takes the next step. At least a couple of our young players start to blossom. We add a good player in the draft. We are at least a little desirable.

For this to work, Olshey must resist the temptation to fritter away cap space on "meh" players in 2016.

I'm holding out hope that we trade some young pieces for an allstar and have at least another dude become a legit starting. Suddenly when wed have two all stars and some solid role players with $35-40M in cap space, its enticing.
If the Sacremento experiment blows up, we have the pieces to go get Cousins. CJ, Meyers, Plumlee, future picks... You get someone like Cousins I could see being able to add an Al Horford or someone like that. Suddenly you're a contender.
that's really the only quick path back to relevance... Olshey got it done with CP3, maybe he can get it done with DMC.

Driving into a deer usually worked for me as in "fear the deer" ..sometimes they stick, other times they bounce off
