Who do you guys think the Heat should Draft? We don't need another Point Guard or Shooting Guard. IMO, we need a good versitale big man. If Wayne Simien is still avalible by the time the Heat get their first round pick I would go with him. He would be a great backup Power Forward for Haslem, because truthfully Laettner or Doleac don't give us a good inside presence off the bench. Simien could come in bang around in the post and grab rebounds. He is also a great midrange shooter. Another possibility would be to draft Ronny Turiaf from Gonzaga. He's a terrific defender, rebounder and post player. He would also be a good player to come off the bench for Haslem or Shaq'. Hakim Warrick is another possibility.
I would look at a PF or PG. Haslem might cash in this summer with another team so they might need to find a cheap replacement via draft. Wayne Simien would be a PF that might be their at the 28, 29th pick, but I highly doubt it. Salim Stoudamire would be the guy I would look at it. Not a true PG...but with Wade and Shaq on the court, he'll be nailing those open 3's all day. Then when the opposistion decides to cover Salim when he brings the ball up, he'll expose them off the bounce and distrubite the ball around (hopefully). Daniel Ewing will be a guy I look at as well...But he seems like a smaller version of Dooling in a sense.
IMO, the Heat need depth...they need a bench desperately, and I think Doleac is adequate in the 10-12 minutes he could see as Shaq's replacement..the jury is still out on Wright, and Butler is not doing much....I like what anderson brings as a defensive specialist who also moves and slashes...Dooling is iffy, and wildly inconsistent...the Heat could stand to use a backup PG and another scoring swingman off the bench...
