Well, it was bound to happen. A night after beating a physically drained Laker team, the Hornets lose at home against Chicago. Chicago, who shot 59% from the floor, however, helped keep it close thanks to I believe 25 turnovers. 9 of them were by rookie point guard Kirk Hinrich. Ouch. But, Hinrich redeemed himself by hitting a clutch free throw with 15 seconds left to make it a 3 point game. But, this was all about Jalen Rose and Baron Davis. Jalen ended with 34 and Baron 35. Baron kept em close, but, in the end, they went to Wesley, and, he got rejected to end. But, with the way Chicago shot, this game should not have been so close. But, turnovers killed em. But, nonetheless, it was a win, and a quality one at that, for Chicago, against a team you people were hailing as a possible eastern conference powerhouse. Well, they were brought down to earth today against Chicago.

One loss doesn't mean they're suddenly not East contenders. Still a top 3 Eastern team at the moment. Not sure what you mean by "back down to reality" either, not like beating the Lakers suddenly makes you superhuman

Im not suprised (of course, im never suprised if the bulls win). But the highlight was Jamal Crawford's length-of-the-court shot that swished.

By that title I mean, they're not on fire anymore. They now know what a loss takes like again. And that's all that I meant.

By that title I mean, they simply got beat, the were riding high after what, 5 in a row, so, hence, brought back down. They now know what a loss takes like again. And that's all that I meant.

    That shot was awesome.

Instead of repeating myself, I'll just post what I said in the Bulls forum:

Pretty sweet, huh? I like how Cartwright shuffled around the lineup. It worked, didn't it? I think that despite the turnovers, Kirk played really well. Once he gets around this turnover problem, he'll be awesome. He's all hustle. Kendall Gill really helped the Bulls out in the beginning of the game. I'm surprised he only got credited for 2 steals. As for Jalen and his 34 points.. I hafta say that those were the quietest 34 points I've ever seen. [IMG] It was also nice to see Eddy take it to Magloire the way he did .

Yea, that was wicked. Hell of a good shot. That showed right there how they were gonna shoot that night. At least that's what I think.

It's not that I'm bitter, I just thought I'd post this. And, for the love of god, if I was bitter, I'd be ranting on and on about how much the Laker game sucked. Am I doing that? No. I just felt like typing up a post about the game and how New Orleans was at least in the game the entire time despite Chicago's hot shooting. If I really wanted to rip on the Hornets, I could have went and said something like Baron Davis took too many 3s, or they didn't give the ball to the correct person at the end, or that they didn't take full advantage of Chicagos turnovers. I didn't though. I didn't want to. I was at least giving the Hornets props for staying in the game. Hell, I even gave props to Baron for keeping them in the game all night. What more do you really want me to do? I'm sorry if I can't be completely set on a team without one superstar at the beginning of a season that gets off to a hot start. I'm sorry. If they keep up this play or get better though when Mash comes back, than, I'll start believing. Until then, I'll think that their a good team sure, cause, they did knock off LA and they beat an eastern contender in Philly, but, I don't think I'll consider them a true eastern contender til midseason if their still playing this good of ball. But, I will admit, they are an excellent team. I will give all of you that.

Believe me, I'm not bitter. I know the Lakers lost to a good team. It's just that, I'm not willing to believe fully in the Hornets, not yet at least. If they're at or around the top in the east by all star break, than I will believe in them. Until then, I can't. But, again, I'm not bitter. A bitter person would have complained constantly about the loss and would have tried to make every excuse in the world for em. The only excuse I made was that they were exhausted. And yea, so did SportsCenter. So, I'm not trying to be bitter, even if that's how it's coming off, because, in no way, shape, or form am I bitter. I just felt like typing something about a hell of a good game. So sue me for doing so....

Would you have typed something about it had the Hornets not beaten the Lakers, or had the Hornets beaten the Bulls?

I actually really didn't think LA was gonna win, I mean, double OT with aging players isn't good for the next night. So, that's my thought there. I'd have liked em to win, but, eventually, everyone has to lose. That was LAs time. Enough of that though. And actually, I probably would have posted something about Chicagos struggles and than would have wondered why I had any faith in them whatsoever.
