    WHO'S NEXT?

I would keep an eye on Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu. The M's front office spent a lot of money to give the M's a team to contend for the AL West division title and for the postseason. Instead it has been a season of disappointment that has put starting pitcher Cliff Lee on the trading block. Their hitting coach has been canned to be replaced by Alonzo Powell. Ken Griffey Jr, has hung it up so the infleunce of the clubhouse is not around. This is not what Howard Lincoln envisioned the club for 2010.

The Pirates John Russell is safe for now but looks like his fate may be determined by the slew of the organization's highly regarded prospects now up in the Steel City, headlined by 3B Pedro Alvarez.

The Mets Jerry Manuel and Lou Piniella of the Cubs are the ones to watch for the off-season.
