Re: The Jets' H-U-G-E additions This is exactly what I was talking about:Eagles | Runyan took less money to stayFri, 24 Mar 2006 18:01:25 -0800Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports OT Jon Runyan accepted the Philadelphia Eagles three-year, $12.5 million contract to re-sign with the Eagles. The New York Jets were actually willing to pay Runyan double the money in the first year of the contract and millions more over the life of it. Runyan couldn't leave the Philadelphia market in which he felt so comfortable. The Jets tried very hard to get Runyan to sign, but in the end they could not get the deal closed. The big names don't want to play for us.

McGinest and Washington went for the money, not to mention reuniting with the loved Romeo Crennell, and Kitna went for the Lions starting job being handed to him on a silver platter.I'll tell you right now.....dont expect the Mangini regime to be bigtime players in the free agency market. His mentor, Bill Belicheck, built the entire Patriots 'dynasty' through what was already on the roster and through the draft.....with a few stop-gap signings mixed in like Ted Washington in 2003 and expect Mangini to do the same.

If he were he wouldn't have went after all those big names.

Re: The Jets' H-U-G-E additions we cant start criticizing them now....the fact is, since the Jets suck, and quite possibly can suck for th enxt 3, 4 years, it shouldnt come as a shock that FA dont want to sign with us, especially old guys trying to win a SB before they retire
