    Yep, who cares about "Big Sloppi" can't figure out how that guy gets away with all the crap he pulls.

    Not to mention I have no respect for any idiot who proclaims himself a Hall of Famer. You tell me one other guy you have ever heard do something like that while he's still playing.

    I'm still trying to figure out how the fat basterd has only been HBP 3 times by Yankee pitchers in his career.
    You would think there would be a few more (really) unintentional pitches which missed the inside zone and clipped him.....almost hard to believe Yankee pitchers all these years avoided missing the target by going TOO FAR inside. (only 3 times!).

    It's almost as if they've been afraid to hit him either accidentally or otherwise.....or even worse, just not pitching inside enough. Weird.
    Too much low and away crap....and not enough hard and inside.

    Just watching ESPN Game highlights and Mr. Hall of Famer "Big Sloppi" was ejected from a game for acting like a horses ass when at bat. Luckily for creeps like "Big Sloppi" Torre and now Girardi are not huge prone to have their pitchers throw a little chin music on occasion. Granted one does not want to intentionally deck someone , just go in enough to keep them honest. That not done "Big Sloppi" has been able to dig in and do as he pleases. Another asshole that has done the same is Longoria. The Yankees Staff needs to dust that boy as well. I got a huge chuckle out of Nova a couple years ago when he dusted Jose Bautista.

    ...I think the following quote from that article best sums up Gordon Edes' homeriffic jibberish;

    "The biggest difference in Ortiz's performance is illustrated by his left-right splits. He is just 9 for 73 (.123) with no home runs and four RBIs against lefties, while posting a robust .284/.395/.527/.923 slash line against righties."

    Yeah, and the thing is, they just don't pitch inside enough imo, especially to dangerous hitters. Too many of these "average" pitchers don't establish any kind of command of the inside strike zone, they obviously don't have faith and confidence in their control and/or are concerned about accidentally plunking a batter and allowing a baserunner.

    I guess that's one of the reasons they're "average" pitchers. lol

    Having good command of a decent fastball on the edge or around the low inside corner and just above the belt (inside), helps the other pitches.
    But the hitter must be made to know the possibility of him getting busted inside is REAL - you just can't throw one in there only once in anwhile.
    Those who can do it with a very good fastball are usually ahead of the class.

    Imo

    Given the current situation in Boston "Big Sloppi" and his in game actions threw more wood on the teams bonfire. This after the BS with " Panda" and all the other crap. Betcha Farrell prays at the alter on a daily basis.
