Since the UFC doesn't release official PPV buy numbers, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is relied upon by the MMA community for his inside knowledge of the PPV business, cultivated over many years covering the WWE. Meltzer has UFC 154, featuring the return of welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre, at 700,000 buys, making it one of the UFC's best pay-per-view events of all time (17th). 2012 also featured Jones vs. Evans which pulled similar numbers and the much anticipated Silva vs. Sonnen 2 which sold about a million. Dana White wouldn't answer how many PPV's they sold with UFC 154 but told media that "the king of PPV was back" with a smile.
