The suspension had yet to be announced when the Suns practiced earlier Wednesday before leaving for Los Angeles. After the workout, Bell repeated that throwing Bryant down was wrong but explained what led to the foul and made clear his dislike for the Lakers' star."I have no respect for him," Bell said. "I think he's a pompous, arrogant individual." "I got a bruised cheek here and I can barely open my jaw on this side," he said, indicating the left side of his face, "and that didn't come from nowhere, and I felt like I'd had enough of that."Bell said it went from a game to a personal insult."When I get hit in the face multiple times, you've stepped across the line with me," he said. "It's not basketball anymore. It was basketball for four games, then when he hit me in the face, that was the last straw last night. It still doesn't excuse me, but that's just the way I felt about it." At the other end of the court just before Bell threw Bryant down, the Suns guard said he complained to referee Greg Willard about getting hit in the face, and Lakers coach Phil Jackson hollered out that Bell "deserved it," adding a profanity to emphasize the point. That's why Bell pointed to the Lakers' bench yelling "That's your foul!" after he threw Bryant down The latest incident is part of a season-long series of expressions of mutual contempt between Bell and Bryant. After Tuesday night's game, Bryant said he hoped Bell wouldn't be suspended but added that players can't afford to lose their temper in games."I'm not trying to go out there and elbow somebody, that's not the way I play," Bryant said. "If you get elbowed, you still have to keep your cool. I get elbowed all the time."Bell called Bryant's comments "hypocritical.""We're playing a very heated battle and people on the outside are constantly telling guys that we've got to be more physical," Nash said. "It's tough, and he's faced a lot this series. He's done a great job on Kobe, and Kobe gets away with whatever he wants. That's kind of frustrating."http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2006...tory?id=2431979
i saw this on TNT. Then i got in an argument with my dad, bc he said he's a loser. I know that last part wasn't very important, but now you guys know that i do stick up for Kobe somtimes.
Kobe's pre-series comment works well in this discussion."I've got bigger fish to fry than Raja Bell."

why did raja bell do that? that was just stupid on his part. it's the playoffs and correct me if i'm wrong but weren't the suns up by a lot when he commit that foul? everything gets magnified you gotta hold in that anger or whatever it is. if he gets suspended it's his own fault. he may have blown the series for the suns now because he's one of their key scorers.
YO I THINK RAJA IS DUMB. THE SUNS WERE UP BY AT LEAST 10 AT THAT POINT AND TO GO DO THAT TO KOBE TICS ME OFF, HE HAD NO RIGHT TO DO THAT. HE SHOULD OF GOTTEN SUSPENDED FO 2 GAMES. AND FOR HIM GETTING SUSPENDED THE LAKERS R GOING TO WIN ON THURSDAY AT LA.

Raja your a complete idiot. You had no right of fouling him in such a way and then calling Kobe out....of all people. Bye Suns.
If anyone didnt notice, Raja is a flopper. Kobe and Phil wanted him to play Thursday for the excitement/Compition.But Bell yesterday after a screen by Walton walton touched him and Raja just fell to the ground. Also complaning abt kobes elbows when kobe gets the ball, Raja stays with him then falls and holds his elbow when he got hit in some other part. its true watch the games...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kingjamez @ May 3 2006, 06:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I wouldve closelined him harder..</div>Funny. A skinny 14 year old white kid who argues on an internet forum site with the name, "KingJamez" is gonna kick a 27 year old 6 foot 7 black guy's ass.I just watched the supposed elbow on Bell's face, there was NO contact on the face whatsoever. I'll up it on Youtube, the last angle shows it very well.
Raja Bell:"Honestly? He hit me in the face, then he came down and tried to bully me a couple times on the play. I went over the referee, Greg Willard, and asked him what happened, and Phil Jackson said 'I effing deserved it.' And then I said 'what?' and he said, 'You effing deserve it.' "Kobe:"I don't think anyone expects to get clotheslined during a basketball game. But it was still fun."Raja Bell:"It's a personal thing when someone continually hits you in the face. That's the only way I can put it. I've been playing as hard as I can play, been trying to do a good job, I've been trying to be what my team needs me to be, and I continually get hit in my face."Kobe:"Oh come on, I retaliate and what, miss a game? For this guy?" (shakes his head)Raja Bell:"There doesn't seen to be any boundaries or limitations for what he's allowed to do to me, and at that point I kinda lost my cool and I took it into my own hands."Kobe:"Does he know me? Do I know this guy? I don't know this guy. I might have said one word to this guy. I don't know this kid. I think he overreacts to stuff. I don't know him, I don't think about him. We go out there and we play, we play during the season, we play each other. That's it. I don't know this kid. I don't need to know this kid. I don't want to. We go out there and play the game and leave it at that. Maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a kid, I look at him a little bit and he gets a little insecure about something. I don't know."
Raja bell tried to get kobe into a one on one battle- FailureRaja bell hits kobe, probablt trying to provoke something- FailureRaja bell- FailureRaja is just a punk ass, it's quite freaky. Kobe was laughing in his nterview and raja looked like he wanted to murder someone. He's going to go artest soon enough if a fan eggs him om.One thing i forgot was that odom went after Raja and kwame stopped him. I have new found respect for odom.
