I was just thinking, both will probably get the opportunity to start next year (as they probably both well should) considering all things would you rather see Jameer Nelson as your team's PG for the next 10 or so years, or would you rather see Bassy Telfair in that role? Because I think even if Bassy luives up to all the hype he was ever given he still falls short of what Nelson will be as a starter.
probably nelson, but that's only cuz he had a better rookie season than telfair. but i don't think you can go wrong with either.

I think Telfair will be better, because his quickness, and court vision is already as good as some starters in the league. If he improves his jump shot he will be better than Nelson.
This is a tough question my man Nelson or a young'n in Telfair, Nelson plays better D but Telfair has better court vision. So I would pick Telfair in a close on but I hope I'm wrong about this. So I guess that Francis is going to move to the 2 guard positon.
You guys are raising Telfair's court vision as Nelson's weakness but I don't see any aspect of Telfair's game better than Nelson'ds except that he should lasst 4 years longer. youth is all bassy has on Jameer and i don't think that means his potential will make him better, that's all I'm sayin

He doesn't have a polished game like Jameer, he is still learning.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheGreatK-Bob:</div><div class="quote_post">why will telfair get better?</div> He is working on getting a reliable jump shot, he still needs to mature because as I said a million times he's only 19! His passing is already great. He needs playing time to become more experienced and get a feel for the NBA game. If he stays on the bench next year he will need to get Ricky Davis like minutes because he will get a lot better the more he plays.
I think Jameer Nelson will be better then Bassy just because I havn't seen a whole lot from Bassy that impressed me. Jameer displayed passing abilities, scoring abilities, great defense and good court vision in his rookie year. I think that Bassy will be a good player but he won't be better then Jameer. In a few years when Jameer and Dwight are leading this team, they will both be good players and will be a great duo.
I don't know why you guys say you saw a lot more from Nelson. Nelson 8.7 PPG Telfair 6.8 PPG Nelson 2.4 RPG Telfair 1.5 RPG Nelson 3.0 APG Telfair 3.3 APG Ok a basket more, one more rebound? Telfair is 19 and his numbers were just as good as the 23 year old Nelson.

These are very impressive numbers and showed glimpses of being a great point guard.
