Yep, after a loooong vacation from this site the MDE decides to make a return. But I am not happy at all, particularly with the NBA Finals series and my Lakers' effort (or lack thereof) displayed. But most of all, the refs are tickin me off. Now I'm not one to normally complain about officiating, because I know that Kobe and Shaq will get superstar treatment every now & then. BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> *At halftime in game 3, each Laker player that had played in the game had picked up a foul. *Walton had 3 fouls in 4 minutes in the first half. Meanwhile, Shaq had 4 fouls midway through the 3rd quarter. The Diesel shot just 2 free-throws. Are you tellin me he was only fouled once the entire game? LOL, please... *Piston defenders (mainly Ben Wallace) seemed to constantly hook Shaq's arms, therefore creating B.S. offensive fouls on Shaq. *Several ticky-tack fouls called on L.A. and the stats prove it: Pistons shot 30 free-throws, while the Lakers shot just 13! 27 fouls on the Lakers but only 16 on the Pistons!!! Everybody says the Lakers get the calls and such, but the Pistons nearly have a 2 to 1 free-throw advantage in this series up to game 4. Hmmmm.....strange eh?! Why am I so ticked? *I hate Ben Wallace at times because his fro looks alot better than his free-throw stroke. *I hate Rasheed Wallace because he takes almost as many shots as he does drugs. *I don't hate Tayshaun, but I hate Rip in a way because he gets 1,000,000 screens set for him and because he gets wide open looks he becomes a superstar. *I hate Chauncey because he has more tatoos than he does fouls called on him in this series. *I hate Darko because he is overrated. *I hate Darvin Ham because his last name is almost as bad as his annoying pointy ears. (no offense to him) *I hate Lindsey Hunter because he has a girly first name and could never do anything good with the Lakers, but all the sudden he is the best to ever touch a ball. ...And that is why I am starting hate the Detroit Pisstons! However, I am confident that the Lakeshow has just hit a speedbump and will go on to win yet ANOTHER title; will win it for Karl!
Im with you friend. I couldnt believe this. As i was seeing the game i thought the same thing about Big Ben. Perhaps the refs feel sorry for the Pistons and wanna make it that the underdog wins. That wont happen.
Honestly fellas, the officiating had nothing to do with the results of the game. The Lakers just got their butts handed to them....The Lakers are going to have to make major adjustments for game 4, cuz tonite they weren't even close
Amazing how such a rubbish team like Detroit could make the finals in the first place, is it not MDE? Lakers have never gotten special treatment from the refs, and now the Pistons are?! Who knows, maybe if they win the next game it'll be through being the better team, but stranger things have happened.
MDE, could it be that you hate Ben Wallace because his defense is respected by the Refs, so he gets some of those calls where Shaq lowers his shoulder into his defender, to go in his favor unlike Rasho, Ervin Johnson, Kandi etc, who get no respect from refs so Shaq basically runs over them like a Mac truck with no call? I think thats what is, Shaq isnt allowed to basically kill his opponent this series Wow what a cheapshot at Rasheed. You would think with all the characters the Lakers have you would keep "off the court problem" type cheapshots out of this series. The Lakers are to easy of a target right now, Pistons fans could kill you right now with the jokes about the off the court problems your team has gone thru & are still facing. I care nothing about the Pistons or Lakers, so the joke was a bit funny to me but Piston fans may make you feel it for that one. But the joke is untrue because Rasheed hardly shoots on the Pistons. The Pistons have to actually run plays to try & get him more shots if you ask me.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">*I hate Rasheed Wallace because he takes almost as many shots as he does drugs.</div> I guess he has alot in common with Kobe then, only difference is replace Rasheed with Kobe and drugs with hotel workers There all sorted And for the record, Sheed has not been taking many shots at all. He has picked up 2 fouls in every first quarter of every game so far. Yet you complain about the refs? Luke Walton got fouls because he was matched up by Corliss Williamson, a guy who is way too strong for Walton to deal with. The last thing you should be doing is moaning about fouls, that whole 4th quarter Kobe was holding and pushing Chauncey every single minute yet is never called for the fouls. That was simply a joke. If every foul was actually called the way It was suppose to, Shaq would not last 20 minutes in any game this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">I guess he has alot in common with Kobe then, only difference is replace Rasheed with Kobe and drugs with hotel workers</div> That is really an ignorant statement, Kobe had sex with 1 hotel worker as far as we know of and I would think Kobe is really vulnerable right now so if he did have sex with more hotel workers/women then they would come out and try to get some money off of him or something, get their 15 mins. of fame. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And for the record, Sheed has not been taking many shots at all. He has picked up 2 fouls in every first quarter of every game so far.</div> I do agree with this, Sheed has had minimal amounts of shots but he is converting...in game 1 he was 3/4 from the field, but 6/6 from the FT line..He is getting it done by converting on his opportunities. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If every foul was actually called the way It was suppose to, Shaq would not last 20 minutes in any game this season.</div> Shaq doesnt do anything wrong most of the time, he is just huge, and most of his power moves have more of an effect on his opponenets..if he was smaller they wouldnt be fouls.
I wouldnt totally blame the refs, we lost by 20 people, that couldnt be justthe refs fault. The officiating wasnt fair at all in game 3 but wasnt it mostly cause of our crappy performance that we ?lost. We should think more about how to win the next 3 games. But to let out emotions, i totally agree with you mde!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">That is really an ignorant statement, Kobe had sex with 1 hotel worker as far as we know of and I would think Kobe is really vulnerable right now so if he did have sex with more hotel workers/women then they would come out and try to get some money off of him or something, get their 15 mins. of fame. </div> How is it any more ignorant than what MDE stated about Sheed? I'm sure if Sheed was taking drugs his performance on the court would be pretty damn bad. But that really hasn't been the case in terms of defense. He just hasn't been allowed to play so far in this series because of foul trouble. Oh and for the record, a women in Portland also said she had a little thing with Kobe. I don't believe for one second this girl from Denver is the first. As for Shaq, he always lowers his shoulder to get closer to the basket. No player should get away with moves like that every single time but he does because he's "Shaq"
[quote name='AllNet']I guess he has alot in common with Kobe then, only difference is replace Rasheed with Kobe and drugs with hotel workers/QUOTE] thats a low blow detroit has blown teams out at home this playoff season but have lost thier focus and have lost home playoff games. you gotta use the game as motivation and obviously play harder. they are playing so sloppy(not b/c of det sometimes) and are giving the pistons the series. it just seems that maybe the lakers got complacent and think someone will step up when someone has to make something happen first. the pistons want this title more than the lakers, i hope they feel embarrassed and come out and play like they actually want to win another championship, because if they don't maybe they won't have another chance to win one for a while.
No, seriously, how could you be a Piston fan? The old Bad Boy Pistons set the tone of physical, hard play by knocking guys around. Nowadays Pistons are dirty defenders that like to grab and hold and hack. I hate that brand of basketball that some of you may call "good, fundamental defense" I got carried away with all the disses at the Pistons players, mainly because it was 1 am in the morning and I was caught up in a heated moment. But guys, I'm tellin ya, the refs set the tone by calling tons of fouls and getting the Lakers over the penalty. It's fine if the refs want to call those fouls on the Lakers, but call fouls on the Pistons too, please! Shaq never went to the line off a shooting foul. Weird ain't it?!

Whenever asked about a hard foul and If they did it to hurt a guy their response we would "yeah, so?" Pistons are nothing like that team, Pistons players are only dirty to homer fans who have no clue what they are watching. Players do hold other players in this league, that doesn't make them dirty. If It does then Kobe is a very dirty player all he does on defense is hold and push. He was raping Chauncey last night with his pushing and holding, quite ironic. The guy got away with murder. It really works both ways. You hate the brand of basketball that stops your team from scoring, It has nothing to do with playing dirty. It's pysical but certainly not dirty.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">*I hate Lindsey Hunter because he has a girly first name and could never do anything good with the Lakers, but all the sudden he is the best to ever touch a ball.</div> what are you sayin to this

LOL, unrealistic, especially when guarding a player like Kobe Bryant. And most of the fouls on the Pistons came in garbage time, so the stats are deceptive. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You hate the brand of basketball that stops your team from scoring, It has nothing to do with playing dirty. </div> No, not true. I don't hate the Spurs method of defense and they do a very good job on the Lakers. However, when the "defense" a team plays can change the outlook and style of the game, then I don't like it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It's pysical but certainly not dirty.</div> Well, if you don't call it dirty, then at least say it is too physical. you hate Hunter because he have a girlish name!.. who cares dude, Cassel's face look like my ass and he's the second best PG..

Kobe got in foul trouble due to the Pistons guards attacking the basket and fighting through screens. Kobe really should of fouled out the way he was defending in that 4th quarter. I thought I was watching the NFL for moments in that quarter with the way Kobe was pushing Billups around. Unless you attack the basket you will not get fouls called, all the Lakers did was shoot long jumpers and three-pointers. Thats not going to get it done. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Well, if you don't call it dirty, then at least say it is too physical. I guess any team that is taking it to the Lakers are considered a very dirty team and "It's not basketball" The minds of Laker fans. Not once this season have any players or fans said Pistons play dirty the reason? Because they aren't.
Allnet- how are the Lakers supposed to attack the basket? If they do get to the hoop, Ben Wallace is there to either block it (which should be goaltending half the time) or there will be no fouls called. And do I have to provide more pics of the illegal Detroit defense? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/photo?slug=dtp...dtp1125&prov=ap

Even if you do get the calls theres not a way in hell he'll make the majority of the free throws and besides the game is over. The Lakers lost. Detriot played outstanding defense. Defense wins championships and if the Pistons keep it up they will be getting one.

He has a great eye for the ball. If the Lakers can't get to the basket that is their problem. They indeed do get calls when going to the basket. Rasheed Wallace keeps getting called for bogus fouls in the 1st quarter of every game in this series. That pic doesn't really prove anything, you are allowed to rest your arm on the guy you are matching up with and 2ndly that is Shaq..You have to do something to try and stop him. None of those plays actually effect the play. The guy is a monster what else can you do but do that?
