This is a warning to all teams playing the Atlanta Falcons this year. NFL Officials will be tacking on an additional yardage to Michael Vick runs in order to validate the hype that they are force feeding to the masses and to keep from having racks and racks of unsold Vick jerseys once the public catches on to the INDISPUTABLE Truth that he shouldn't be playing QB. (The league learned this lesson the hard way with Kordell Stewart.) League officials feel that even if Michael Vick lands on the 20 yard line that the forward momentum of his hype would have carried him to the 22 yard line and given him the first down easy. So take a page from Andy Reid's playbook and hang on to those challanges. Your going to need them.
Lol... thats funny. BUT, Im pretty sure whether or not Vick is a horrible QB, that he led them to victory over a good D. Am I right or am I right? Thats all that should be talked about with Vick, he won them the game over supposedly the best NFC team. Look at big ben, he put up horrid #'s last year, but they won games, and thats all that matters... PERIOD!
McNabb gets pummeled in a chest with a helmet (which is illegal to lead with the helmet) and there is no penalty. Vick gets brushed by Michael Lewis as he is going out of bound, BAM a 15 yard penalty.

The Falcons won despite him. Any intelligent and objective football fan realizes that Patrick Kearney led the Falcons to victory last night and that's the INDISPUTABLE TRUTH. C'mon guys, just insert the name J.P. Losman into the insufferable crap you post in defense of Michael Vick and tell me who you sound like.

This is what I mean by nitpicking about things. Both teams had calls made against them. The Falcons had a few nice plays called back due to penalties, a TD called back, and there was one fumble call that could be considered questionable. I have never seen more people so obsessed by a single player in my life. It seems you're as interested in him as the media is, otherwise you wouldn't go out of your way so often to talk about him. If he bothers you so much, don't watch him play, don't look at his stats and don't talk about him because your pathetic whining about Vick is old and tired.

BJ is the guy who replaced Alex Smith and IMHO will be better than AS.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>All this pro-Vick rhetoric implying that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread is okay?</div> Who here is implying that Vick is the greatest thing since sliced bread? I know I certainly haven't I have never said he's the greatest QB or anything like that. I have agreed with many of you endless times on what Vick needs to improve on but I don't continually bitch and moan about these things he does wrong either. I know a lot of people whine about Vick because the media is on his dick, and making him out to be as you said, the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't think thats the issue on this forum though, so why is it continually brought up? You know there are also many people in the media who aren't fans of Vick. I just think this issue is being made into much more than it has to be and quite frankly hearing the same stuff over and over after every game he plays is irritating. Move on. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>4 words; Marketing, ratings, merchandising, money.</div> That is the media's doing, they hyped up Vick from the moment he came into the NFL. That isn't Vick's fault and its a shame that so many people drag his name through the mud because of what the media has created.
That late hit call was bogus how the F do they expect Lewis to stop while in mid flight? Didn't see the other bad calls I was to busy mourning the Lions/ Packer game.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JustBry07)</div><div class='quotemain'>Who here is implying that Vick is the greatest thing since sliced bread? I know I certainly haven't</div> I never meant to imply, say, or infer that you said any such thing. It is the media that makes any such silly assumptions.

They have overhyped Vick and because of it he is expected to do these wonderful things and when he doesn't live up to that hype right away people start to criticize. I understand where people are coming from to a certain degree. I just don't like seeing Vick continually put down by people because of something the media started.

You can try to discredit my post by call it whining, but most posters here can tell the difference between the truth I'm laying down and your spin doctoring. The truth is that this is Michael Vick's fifth year in the league and he still doesn't have a clue about how to throw a football with touch or precision. What's old and tired is hearing about how great Michael Vick is even though he can't even manage an 85 QB rating. What's old and tired is watching Michael Vick get credit for victories where he was carried by true superstars like Keith Brooking and Patrick Kearney. What's old and tired is asking for substantial support that Michael Vick is a great player and getting dodgy answers that the Falcons are winning so he's responsible. What a load of crap. You don't like my being critical of Michael Vick? Too bad. As long as I have to hear Michael Vick is so great when I'm trying to watch football, I'm coming back and pointing out how stupid those comments are. When I see posts proclaiming Vick's glory, I'm going to shine light on that heresy. Why does what I post bother you so much? It's because you know I'm right. If you believed that Vick was a great QB, what I post wouldn't matter so much. You don't hear me asking anyone to shut up because I know what I believe and I'm not afraid of it being put to a test or defending my words. I hate to tell you this, but this isn't a Falcons message board. You might run into some dissenting opinions. You can get over it, yourself.

You have made it more than clear how you feel about Michael Vick, on several different occassions. Why bring it up again? Its like a joke that was once funny but was overused and lost its value. Yes, I believe Vick is a good QB. No, I don't believe he wins games by himself and no it doesn't matter what you think because I have my own opinions. Since I do have my own opinions of Vick, I will continue to defend Vick through all the meaningless whining. I'm sorry that I don't see the point in bringing up the same issue, knowing full well I can't change it and I've already stated my views on the subject. If thats your deal, then so be it. If anyone has something to get over its certainly not me. By the way thank you so much for informing me that this wasn't a Falcons MB, since I clearly couldn't realize something of that magnitute for myself.

Why do I keep talking about Vick? Do you bother to read the posts you criticise? I don't know how to explain it any simpler for you. I'm sick and tired of hearing about how great Michael Vick is and as long as the media and other posters keep proclaiming his glory, I will continue to speak the truth about him. It's just that simple. I started this thread because the spot they gave Vick was absolutely the worst spot since Testeverde scored with his helmet. Couple that spot with the various degrees of roughing the passer that was being called and it looked kind of crooked. I'm not saying that it was, but it smelled funny. I decided that I would make a comment about it and see what everyone else thought about it. I welcome any opinions, not just the ones that I agree with. I just didn't think I needed to spell it out. Geez, do we need a Message Board 101 class around here?

I don't think anyone has made him out to be a Manning or Brady type QB. I think plenty of the posters have criticised certain aspects of Vick's game and praised other parts. As far as I can see its the posters who have the biggest problem with him that are continually bringing him up and making threads that later lead to other posters defending Vick. When you stop making all these threads about how horrible of a QB he is, and how he can't throw and is a RB wearing the #7 you will see a decline in pro-Vick posts. However with the media it is a different story. Believe it or not you aren't going to change the media and their comments are not going to stop, so you had better get used to it. I don't see the point in continuing to go on and on about this topic, and the more times its brought up the more it begins to look like whining rather than stating the facts or some kind of truth. No offence but thats how it comes across. A ref places the ball in a generous spot after a Vick run and right away you think its because of the hype of Michael Vick. As if its never happened before. I find that to be a bit extreme and it seems to me that you will use any little thing you can and make it into something negative about Vick. I'm giving you my opinion, you said you welcomed them and there it is. If you think about it I'm trying to help you out, because debating this topic is an absolute waste of time so why not just suck it up and move beyond it. If you're going to continue to bring it up, then I will continue to debate it and somehow I know you don't want to see my pro-Vick posts.

I come here to voice my opinion. One of my many opinions is that Michael Vick is a running back playing quarterback. You only consider it whining because your afraid to hear this truth. I don't care if you want to hear it or not. I don't post to make you happy. I post to make me happy. I'm not going to "suck it up" and stop posting about subject because I know I'm right. As far as wasting time goes, I guess you've decided that trying to come up with a substantial argument that Michael Vick is a great QB is a monumental waste of time, so your trying to convince me to stop talking about it. You need to start looking for Plan C.
I consider it whining because thats exactly what it sounds like. You want some truth, Michael Vick is and always has been a QB in the NFL. Anyone with eyes can see that. I don't think I've ever disputed things you said if I knew for a fact that what you were saying was a fact. Vick being a RB is not fact or truth. When he starts playing RB, then we can discuss this again, until then you're wrong. Vick does overthrow receivers and make some bad decisions, and he needs to improve in the passing game. I have never denied that. I've watched Vick make bad choices and play some bad games, but along with the bad comes the good. I have also watched him make some very accurate throws and overall watched him play some great football games. Vick is a good QB, its not that he's horrible, unaccurate and can't throw the ball. It's that he's not consistent from game to game. He has the ability to be a great QB, if he can be consistent. Combine that with his ability to run and his leadership on the team and there is the making of something special. I'm one of the people that is optimistic about Michael Vick as a QB, because he does play QB on my team and I want to see him succeed. I think I'll wait until mid-season to make my judgements on how far he has come.
