<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Bulls will have room under the salary cap this summer for the first time since their celebrated ?full-boat? free-agent quests of 2000 and 2001.

Back then, when the team was horrible, the arrival of a future free agent such as Tracy McGrady or Eddie Jones was one of the few highlights on the schedule.

Thankfully for Bulls fans, times have changed. Saturday at the United Center, the Bulls got their first look this season at Atlanta?s Al Harrington, who could end up being their No. 1 target in free agency this summer.

As auditions go, this wasn?t a very good one. With Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf watching from his suite, Harrington produced 13 points and 4 rebounds, while hitting 5 of 15 shots. The Bulls survived a late comeback to turn back the Hawks 111-99.

The Bulls (20-23) won their fourth in a row ? matching a season high ? and will begin a seven-game Western road trip on Tuesday in Dallas just a half-game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls tried to trade for Harrington, a 6-foot-9 forward, in 2003 when he played for Indiana, but the Pacers wouldn?t accept an offer of the No. 7 draft pick. The Bulls ended up keeping the pick and selected Luol Deng, who scored 18 points Saturday.

Overall this season, Harrington, 25, is averaging 18.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and shooting 46.3 percent. A possible future with the Bulls is definitely on his mind.

?Obviously, they?re one of the top teams on my list as a free agent,? Harrington said. ?They?re right there. This house is definitely going to be a situation I?m going to look at in free agency and if it?s a fit, I?ll be here.?

The Bulls have a spot available for Harrington at power forward and believe he could fit in with their plan of a hard-working, unselfish team.

?They?re doing a great job of putting this team together,? Harrington said of the Bulls. ?Everybody complements each other well. I think the biggest thing that they?re missing is a person like myself that would be a post presence night in and night out. That?s why, obviously, I think this would be a good situation and I?m sure management feels that way also.</div>

Give me Al Harrington through free agency, the player we are going to draft with the Knicks first rounder (Aldridge[IMG] ), our first round pick, and provided we keep our core intact. That team could go a long way. Not to mention the rest of the money we will have at our disposal this off season.

Right now Alridge is projected to go top three. From what I heard in another article in the draft was held today it would go Morrison number one, Alridge number two, and Gay number three.

How do I find out who else is going to be a free agent next year? As I do also think that Harrington sounds nice I would like to know who else could be a possibility.

If you own NBA Live or any other type of basketball games the free agents that appear after you complete your first season, are pretty much accurate to the ones who will be hitting the market this year, granted some have signed extension. The big guys are Al Harrington, Peja, Ben Wallace, Nazr Muhammad, etc.

    I think it's

    1) Morrison
    2) Gay
    3) Aldridge

I think Gay will be the best out of the three, then Morrison, followed by Aldridge. However I still think Aldridge will be very good and suite the Bulls perfectly.

nbadraft.net has Lemarcus going 2nd to the Bobcats. Suppose he's already gone, who do the Bulls take?

I wouldn't say he is out of reach the Knicks are only a few games behind the Bobcats in the lose column, and just lost again today to the Hawks. Though I do think Aldridge will go number two I think we will have that selection. If he is gone I would not mind seeing us take another center, or big shooting guard.

If Aldrige is gone, should we keep it for next season?

    ^ Um.....what?!

Edit: I forgot that Chicago can switch.

In my opinion, yes. What the Bulls need most is either a big man or a slashing SG scorer. We won't get that in this years draft without Aldridge. However 2007 has a lot of decent big men coming out, time will tell. The only problem with taking the 2007 is we're banking on the Knicks sucking major ass again, which is common, but a bit of a risk if we could have a pick as high as 3-4 in 06.

We can take their pick this year, and switch with them if their pick is higher next season.
