Hello Cavs fans I have my prediction. I've been really looking at this thing and i've come to the realization that the cavs are the most dangerous team in the east. When I say dangerous, I mean that we really could (brace yourself) make it to the Finals!!! Ok Ok I know some will think im crazy but read me out...We are the ONLY team in the east with a legitamate center, and in the playoffs thats what u need, someone to run the offense through in a half court setting. One thing we need to work on is "zone busting" and lately with mcinnis playing more aggresively on the offensive side of the ball we are doing a better job at this. One thing that would hurt us would be experience. THATS WHEN ERIC WILLIAMS, TONY BATTIE, JEFF MCINNIS, LEE NAION COME IN. These guys have experience and will be able to control more or less the emotion and pyche of the team. Im telling you, the cavs are really playing with a lot of confidence and words can not describe how Im pretty sure all cavs fans feel about ZYDRUNDAS ILGAUSKAS!!! He's been playing like a man in the middle, toughness and the willingness to sacrifice whatever for the team has just been great. So now i've laid it on the line people comments please, how do u see it.. comments
Cav's are a great team, and they've proved it so far this second half of the season. But if you look at the East, there's teams like Indiana, New Jersey, and Detroit. The Cav's do have a chance a the finals, but it's to early to say that the Cav's are a the best team in the west, especially when they've been fighting just to make the playoffs.
Cavs can get hot and do some damage, but they are still the 2nd youngest team in the league, they will make mistakes and not get calls.
To tell you the truth Treez, im feeling the same way. IMHO New Jersey is the only team standing in our way.
I wouldn't let a record breaking season think you have much chance in the post season. Cavs are not ready to beat anyone in the playoffs. Next year maybe, but not yet. If you end up with the 6,7 or 8th seed then getting a few games would be considered a great effort and a surprise.
Now that I would be against, because we can beat anyone. It would not shock me to see them in the 2nd round. But going further, now that I would call a stretch for right now at this very moment.
New Jersey is the team that scares me big time in the playoffs. Just know how to get it done! Detroit and Indiana are not proven when it matters and have choken slightly! So you never know!
The Cavs are abosolutly the hottest team in the East. The thing about it is that i think the cavs will get the 7th seed and miami the 8th. personaly i would not like to play the cavs in the first round because the are as hungry for some big wins as anyone in the league. Boozer and James, first round, that will not be easy for any team.
this team can beat anyone, but they can also lose to anyone. the goal is first to get in the playoffs. once in, ill take my chances with this bunch against anyone. one thing is for sure, this team is improving far ahead of schedule, and knowing cleveland, the expectations surrounding this team might be unrealistic next season (i.e. the browns were supposed to be a superbowl contender). that said, i dont see our team taking steps in the wrong direction. but in closing, i expect this team to make the playoffs, and at the very least give their first round opponent a dog fight of a series.
We do not want to be 7th seed if it can be helped. Can you trade playoff seeds??? LOL We just dont know how to break down their defense, while Kidd just finds an open man with ease against us. They take Z totally out of the game and force James into tough shots to keep us in it.It just spells trouble matching up with the Eastern Conference finals vets and champs!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KarmaCav:</div><div class="quote_post"> Detroit and Indiana are not proven when it matters and have choken slightly! So you never know!</div> So making the conference finals last season is not proven?, winning 50 games back to back is not proven?
We won't beat the Nets, they play a great playoff style brand of basketball. They would get every call against us too. The Pacers would be a better matchup. The Pistons are hot too, but we could handle them IMO. I won't call anything, to me just getting in the playoffs is a success. I know you defend your Pistons allnet, but they are the team everyone would want to play in the first round, lol.
Getting to the playoffs is an achievement in itself after being like 6-19. And about the Pistons choking, well they lucked out with Orlando in the first round and were swamped by the Nets! I dont call them proven performers at all, particulary for a division winner as they were! But they are hot now, and finally have some offensive options outside Hamilton and Billups with Wallace!

Beat down Philly in 6 games without Billups for most of the series, got swept by NJ with guys playing injured. You don't make the eastern conference finals unless you are a proven team. The only team I see beating Detroit come playoff time is the Nets all because of their running game, you can't stop it.
Good post and there are some valid points, but again, out of the teams we are mentioning I still dont see these teams with a valid center, and this will be the key for playing in the postseason. If u remember the reason the nets keep losing in the finals is because they have no legitamate post game, and against the bigs in the west, thats where they fall short, true they beat the east because of the no TRUE BIGS. It will be interesting, I do realize we must throw in the youth factor for that will play a big role, but hey thats why they play the game!!! Good luck Cavs I see big things, and If they dont make it out of the first round, I wont be upset either, this has been a good building block for the future and they always have me waiting for more.....I BELIVE.....DO U
I guess it was nice for them to progress past the first round and erase those Grant Hill first round exit years! I'll give credit for that series with the sixers! They really played tough ball like they did in the regular season. But they seemed in awe of the Nets. Didn't know what to do! The post offensive presense of Wallace was what was so needed. Finally you guys can outscore teams, rather than out defend teams on a regular occassions!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">You dont consider wallace a good center or okuer</div> wallace a good strong pf playing center (a very good pf playing center i might add) but ohkur no not a good center, Ilgauskas would eat his lunch all day everyday. Imagine if z played center for the pistons and wallace the 4 no doubt finals material feel me.?
Okur is a very soild center who produces anytime he gets on court, don't make statements that are totally un-true. If big Z was on the Pistons, Ben would have to bail his ass out everytime on the defensive end. He might be one of the worst 7 foot defenders I've ever seen.
