I cannot believe what I have read on teletext this evening. Two of the clearest instances of hypocrisy and bias towards bigger clubs. Firstly, I was amazed to hear that AFC Wimbledon have been deducted an astonishing 18 points for fielding a player without international clearance. A most serious crime, I think you'll find and I'm surprised that AFC Wimbledon got off so lightly, what with Leeds escaping any significant rap for fielding too many loan players in a cup tie earlier on this season and the FA are "waiting" on the outcome of a Premier League enquiry about whether West Ham were allowed to play Tevez in an FA cup tie - scared of taking any action as usual against a bigger club who might have the resources to hire a legal team to dispute or appeal against any punishment inflicted upon them, more like. Weren't Chester or was it Bury who were thrown out of the FA cup for fielding an ineligible player in the third round ? We see strong enough action there when it involves a "minor" club who don't warrant enough publicity and importance to get the media bandwagon rolling. What else was there ? Ah, yes, the classic "can't play for more than 2 clubs in a season unless you play or want to play for a big, powerful club ? Mascherano was given "special dispensation" to move to Liverpool. However, when a complete unknown called David Proctor, currently plying his trade with Dundee United, wishes to join Airdrie United, who would be the third club he's played for this season, do FIFA decide to grant him this "special dispensation" to break rules that clubs and players are fully aware of ? DO THEY ****. I'm off to buy a year's supply of Airwick plugin's and 50 4 way plugs - the stench of this hypocrisy is too much to stomach.
