Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men I think Z should be on the top 10 list. Yao didnt have the best of seasons last year but hes definietly there. I seriously dont think Charlie V is even close to that honour but will be on the top 10 in about 1-2 years.

Last year was the first year that he really showed dominance and ability to be carry the Rockets offensively over a stretch of games, not in just one or two games. He was easily the best center in the league last year, and is arguably the best center in the league today.

Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men yeah, he's also not any better than those players now when healthy, and he can't play a full season. my list:1. Dirk Nowitzki2. Tim Duncan3. Kevin Garnett4. Yao Ming5. Elton Brand6. Pau Gasol7. Dwight HowardT-8. Chris BoshT-8. Jermaine O'Neal10. Amare Stoudemire

Pau Gasol better than JO? maybe in FIBA.
Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men I do feel that Chris Bosh deserves to be ahead of Dwight Howard on that list, at this point in time. Bosh is more able to carry a team by himself than Howard can at this point in time. He has a much better offensive arsenal than Howard does, with more offensive moves, and a more range on his shot. As I said, he can just carry a team better by himself than Howard can right now. That being said, there is no doubt in my mind, that with just a little more offensive maturity and developing he would be better, and will become better than Bosh.As for Jermaine O'neal, just because he has been on a team that has won 61 games in a season does not make him better than all of those players. Also just because he " helped carve the way for the modern low post player," does not make him better. Julius Irving's high flying ways helped carve the way for the wings, and many people copied elements of his game including Michael Jordan, does that make him better than Michael Jordan? I feel Bosh, and Yao ming are ahead of Jermaine O'neal right now, and Howard is on O'neal's level. Howard just isn't as NBA and court savy as O'neal. He has the abilities and body to be much better than O'neal.

Both were hurt alot last season, and it's early in this season. My list looks kind a little similar though1) Tim Duncan2) Dirk3) Kevin Garnett4) Elton Brand5) Yao Ming6) Chris Bosh7a) Dwigh Howard7b) Jermaine O'neal9) Shaq10) Ben Wallace
Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men Come on, Amare had one good game against a team that didnt have a player over 6'9 in it. Hes only been averaging 10ppg. How is he in top 10?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pacers fan forever @ Nov 12 2006, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>this is only getting worse. Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men This is ridiculous. You guys know nothing about JO and have never seen him play. I'm not biased. You can't name a single guy who looks forward to playing him. He has so many post moves, can hit the 20 footer so easily, can take it to the hole, blocks shots easily, rebounds over people easily... there's so much more I can say, but I'm not going to, I'm done with this topic, cause you guys are very ignorant.

How would you know if they seen him play or not? Your the most biased fan I have ever seen on this board. Jermaine O'Neal is NOT a top 3 player in the NBA, I can name at least 15 players better than him.
Re: The NBA's Top Ten Big Men I have seen Jermaine O'neal play alot of games, and your right he does have alot of good post moves, he has a decent shot, and hes a smart and pretty good defensive player. That being said, he often times actually ruins the flow of the ball on the Indiana team. He usually holds the ball for a good 4 or 5 or 6 seconds before even doing anything, while the rest of his team starts to go in motion. Then they usually get bored and stop going in motion, and the team suffers on offense. Saw alot of that in the Bulls game last night, saw in the Orlando game the night before, and have seen all throughout his career.

This season as of a couple days ago, he was putting up 29 and 10. If you want to call that inconsistent, be my guess, but he is a hell of a player and is very underrated. He is strong with the ball and a great low post player, and his outside game isnt bad either. He lacks defensive talent, but if he had better defenders around him, his defensive presence would be better IMO. He isnt top ten IMO, but he is definitely close.

That's ridiculous. He has been dominate in the post. The man has so much talent in him. And Pau Gasol is injured, yeah, so what? He is still one of the best big men in the League. His defense his improved alot since he came into the League, he can shoot, score in the post, get some boards, blocks, etc...He is in the top 10 on my list, and he should definately get some mentions if you are going to put other less-deserving guys in there. That's the problem with having honorable mentions.
