Nice look, but really if it wasn't for Speedy's nifty plays against the Celtics tonight.. we'd lose big. He basically diced up the defense. Murph was a force for sure.
I like going small and running teams into the ground with our multitude of swingmen. Depth is obviously an asset to this team, so let's use it! It was also nice that the small lineup allowed Foyle (DNP) and Najera (5 minutes) to take the day off. I have a feeling that we are going to need them to run with Stoudemire tomorrow. If we can keep up the fast pace for another day, that Phoenix game is going to be fun to watch.
This is a better win, still not quite as quality as I would like. I wonder if the Celtics are going to be a play off team this year, and they are in the east. Getting better, but not quite there yet. Good win...
Payton definately hates Speedy Claxton, I'm a fan of Speedy though, he's a good player but just suffers the constant injuries. I like him though. The lineup was nice though, Sesay knocked down some jumpers lol, and they were playing pretty well...Derek Fisher still seems to be jacking up a lot of shot for you guys

Why don't you just put 5 athletic players out there and see how you win the division? Oh yeah, you need some dudes who know how to share the ball and play good percentage basketball though.

Hey, we cant play any worse than we have already this season...

Maybe if we had a real point guard we wouldn't be so forced to having Dunleavy be it from the wing in order to play high % basketball. If we're looking at an all finnese player like Dunleavy we might as well be looking at a Toni Kukoc and we don't need that out here in the West. We need balance, good play on both ends of the floor and the point guard to tie into together. Crap, we could have had at least Maurice Williams or somebody that can make a play happen. But no, Mullin signs Fisher and now we have to respect Dunleavy because he's the closest thing we have that resembles a point guard that can dribble, pass well for a big man but not as well as a true 6' point guard? We need a player that can do a little bit of everything, because too much of one thing is just a weakness IMO. Unless he's Reggie Miller, no thanks. Finnesse is for the bench. Competitive play, having good starters to set the tone, and good finishers, defense, with a solid inside and outside presence is what we need. We have none of that so I don't see what makes Dunleavy the best thing since sliced bread because we have no good consistent playmaking point guard. Hype! Also it would be nice if Dunleavy could learn how to shoot consistently and maybe play some help defense. Otherwise if you're 6'9, not as built, and not as fast how do you score or compete in the nba every game? He's not as strong as Matt Harpring, he's not as quick as Redd. The nba isn't what it used to be and you can't force it. Today's players are either the bigs like Tim Duncan, KG, Shaq, Yao or the quick and agile players like Kobe, T-mac, Vince, Mike Miller and if you watch all those guys they can pass pretty well. The majority try to be just like them. (BTW I love Mike Miller that guy is the bomb, although he couldn't stick his landing in today's game after a dunk it was still cool). It's just hard to adjust my opinion of Dunleavy when he's so finnese, but can't shoot from the outside, hit free throws, play defense and we signed Murphy and Jrich to contracts which seem like the worst fit for Dunleavy even if he turns into a better Toni Kukoc or Reggie Miller. I just don't buy into scoring 100 points a game only to give up 110 to the other team. Screw that. Can't make runs or keep games close if you start going cold and can't make stops.
