What the Giants have done has been amazing. 10 in a row on the road is right up there with the Patriots current 18-0, as far as impressive accomplishments are concerned. I hope football fans realize how special this season is, because it may be a while before we see another great run by a team like this, let alone two of them in the same season.
I found this video off the same page as the Coughlin one above... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTD_jumLcwU&NR=1
F this tool. He was the only Fox Sports studio clown to pick the Giants in any post-season game - strangely selecting them over the Packers. Now I read that he interviewed Coughlin after the game. No wonder! Spineless bandwagoner suckup, FU!!

Would he be a bandwagon jumper if he had picked the Packers, then started talking about how he wasn't surprised until after the game? If you want to dish out hate on studio clowns, wouldn't it be more appropriate to target Deion Sanders? Prime Time has been a pretty big Eli critic.
ghoti explained it poorly. TB has been a constant and vocal critic of Coughlin over the past few years.

I am extremely amused by Tiki Barber's criticism of Tom "turn-your-head-and" Coughlin. Tiki, did you wimp out on the team just a bit too early? I guess Coughlin's style of coaching works after all.

Eli is playing great.

That's funny, but it doesn't beat the brainfart I had when I was talking to my mother yesterday. I said, "You might like We Are Marshall. It's not just a football movie. It's about how a college football program and the community respond to a tragic plane accident that kills most of it's football team. It's a true story, but for some reason, I just can't remember the name of the college." Then, there was a long pause before it dawned on me that I had just said it. WE ARE MARSHALL! DUH!

However, Dale isn't totally wrong about that CBS crew. At least Bradshaw didn't say he'd rather be burned alive than play for Coughlin!

But I don't know, man. Coughlin is working his ass of and he is letting his coaches do their jobs. Gilbride has completely turned around his career (which Coughlin launched in the first place) and Spagnuolo has had nothing but encouragement from Coughlin and is now one of the hottest HC prospects around. The team has reduced their penalties, been much more focused on the field and had much more depth and fewer injuries. His game management has also been - for the most part - spot on. All the promises he seemed to have broken were all fulfilled. Jerry Reese is the executive of the year, and Coughlin has taken full advantage of the upgraded roster. It's tough to criticize a guy who never complained about the things that were making his job difficult when now they are glaringly obvious.
I think Coughlin gets a raw deal. His first five seasons with the Jags were amazing, especially when you consider the Jags were an expansion team. He helped Barber stop fumbling which turned Barber into a star rather than a liability. (The biggest reason I can stand Tiki, other than his sissy first name, is because of the ungrateful snot's lack of loyalty to a coach who helped make him.) I really gained more respect for him as the season has progressed. First, Strahan said that he loved playing for Coughlin now and, then, the Giants rebounded from a bad start to becoming, perhaps, the hottest team in the NFL. That tells me that he has been flexable enough to win back players while still maintaining the discipline and focus needed to get to the Super Bowl.
When you judge Coughlin, its important to recognize how much responsibility he delegates to his coordinators. He's coached that way ever since he joined the Giants and you just need to look at the team's sudden change once they fired Tim Lewis and John Huffnagel. What I've always held Coughlin responsible for is the team's discipline and the locker room. Up until this season, both were questionable: the Giants were among the more penalized teams in the league and players were constantly shooting their mouths off (not just Tiki). I don't think I need to outline how he's altered his coaching style this season, as its been written about enough. But, the end result is one of the least penalized teams in the NFL and roster full of players that truly believe in their head coach. I think Coughlin has definitely earned another contract. Gilbride still needs to go though. He's done a good job in the playoffs, but is only a slight upgrade over Hufnagel. The team could benefit from a young OC that brings energy and isn't so predictable (like what Spags did to our D).
