Turiaf is a Laker <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ronny Turiaf has agreed in principle to sign with the Lakers and will join the team by Monday, his agent said. - "He's packing his bags and getting ready to fly down on Monday," said Turiaf's agent, Bouna Ndiaye, who said he finalized contract details with Laker General Manager Mitch Kupchak on Thursday. "We talked about terms and conditions of the contract and now [team owner] Dr. Jerry Buss has to approve everything. We're probably going to sign this weekend, or Monday at the latest. That's what we're expecting. I don't see any problems." - Turiaf, 23, concluded his CBA stint with 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists Tuesday against Sioux Falls (S.D.). "It's a dream for him, you know," Ndiaye said. "It's an amazing story. I think the crowd will be going crazy for him in his first [Laker home] game." </div> HELL YES!!! http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/n...ack=1&cset=true

Laron Profit would be my guess, I like him, but he's out for the year and Washington has to pay the rest of his salary if we waive him. Aaron McKie has been a lousy signing up to this point, but I think he'll be valuable in the post season and later on in the season when he is healthy. He can do the same things Profit was doing for the Lakers and give Kobe a breather. The other possibility could be Devin Green.
The article said joining the team Monday. I don't know if that means playing time or not, but it's very exciting and a GIANT step forward for the Lakers front court. Finally going to get some help and some strength in the post.
Great news for the Lakers. Gives them frontcourt depth that we've been lacking all season long and it gives us a person who isn't afraid to hustle for the boards or put emphasis on defense, which neither Kwame nor Mihm do much of. And my bet is that the Lakers waive Laron Profit. His season is over and he'll save em money if they waive him.
He had the ability to be a strong condender for ROY. Chris Paul will probably win it, but if Ronny plays, he'll impress a few people around the league.
People wake up! Turiaf is a great a addition to the team but here is no way in hell that he is going to get playing time. He does not know the complicated Triagle Offense and we don't even know if he knows how to play defense. Oh! and he won't be an option in the offense.
I don't see him playing alot of minutes yet because of the fact that he has to learn the complex triangle and getting back to playing with the team and all...but when he does get in the game for the 1st time I say everyone cheer for him cause I will...just for his accomplisment to perservere and make it back this soon....proud of him
I dont think anyone said he would make the Lakers a championship contender but once he knows the system I think he will benefit the team.
