When will that bumbling idiot organization do something. They have no grit. No goaltending. Not heart. No defense. No leadership. Jesus. Make some freakin deals and fix the team. First thing I'd trade to do is swing a deal with the Yotes who have no offense whatsoever. Get rid of Eberle. Definitely get back Hanzel a top defensive center which they need in the worst way. Then maybe a couple of prospects like Lessio.
They'll get another "stud" this year with the # 1 pick. Sure that will go over well. What is that 5 # 1 picks in like 7 years...LOL.
I mean, are the Oilers so freakin stupid that they won't go out with a team with depth at goalie and trade for a top goalie prospect? God they are stupid.
For sure. They have to take 1 of the 2 stud kids this draft, but deal some other top pick finesse scorer for D, grit, a goalie. My guess is they don't see it as fair value talent wise, but what they are missing is who cares for their team since they have a ton of talent but lack the things I mentioned to be a winning team. So maybe take a talent hit in a deal, but get back what you need to be a good team. To have all that top end forward talent is useless without some grit and a goalie.
Some times having that top pick hurts because your almost pressured to take the best player and not one who is best for your team....
It never hurts if you are smart. If you're freakin stupid like the Oilers it hurts. This is what they should have done. Traded back at least 2 to 5 spots in 2012. Not taken Yakupov which I said from day one. Taken one of the following defenseman. Trouba, Dumba, Reinhart, Rielly or Pouliot. In 2013, Nurse was a solid pick though I would have gone with Ristolainen. In 2014 I would have traded Eberle for Pelly and Anaheim's 10th pick in the first round which I'm convinced the Ducks would have done. Taken either Ritchie, Sanheim or Tuch with that pick. Never signed Pouliot was which stupid from day one. Especially at the dumbass money they gave him. Traded Schultz for a mid to late 2nd round pick and taken one of the goalie prospects available last year in the second round. There were a lot of good ones.
