The actor died from complications related to a rare blood disorder. Dave Madden, whom you may know from his most famous role as Ruben Kinkaid on “The Partrige Family,” has died. The 82-year-old actor passed away on Thursday at a hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. According to his wife, Sandra Madden, the cause of death was related to his blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome. Madden first rose to fame in the 70s with his role in “The Partridge Family”, which ran for three seasons between 1970 and 1974. On the show, he played the eternally cranky manager who managed the family band. The show itself was based on the premise of a widowed mother, who turns her five children into stars, taking them on the road to kicksttart their musical careers. Shirley Jones played the role of the mom, while Danny Bonaduce found his break, playing the band’s loudmouth teenage basist, constantly clashing with Madden’s character.
