Will Chip's success (or failure) in the NFL affect Oregon recruiting? It occurred to me as I was watching MNF last night that a successful Philadelphia could have a major halo effect for the Ducks. Oregon has a lot of selling points for attracting young players, but preparing guys for the NFL transition has not been one of them. However, if Chipball manages to become a fixture in the NFL game, it seems like Oregon could become a lot more attractive for players looking to play in that kind of system...
the excitement of players over Oregon's spread attack is already being felt from the bottom up as HS programs across the country have been integrating facets of Chip's schemes for years now. I've read many quotes from offensive HS prospects saying that their program runs a version of "Chipball"... these players are naturally drawn to Oregon. Zone blocking, inside/outside read option and other staples of the offense are quickly gaining popularity across the NFL from the 49ers to the Patriots so rival college programs can't really make the not NFL-style offensive arguments anymore when recruiting against Oregon. Chip experiencing success in Phili will only add to the momentum that the program has going for it... Go Eagles! STOMP
